Description of the Related Art Conventionally, when performing exposure compensation, the exposure compensation amount is determined from the photographed scene and the photometric state based on the experience and intuition of the photographer, and is input each time the photograph is taken. Alternatively, a method has been adopted in which the exposure is automatically corrected using an algorithm based on the photometric distribution of divided photometry called evaluation photometry.

First, the photographer uses the distance measuring point selection device 6 to
The F sensor 7 determines the position where focus detection is performed. Next, the CPU 1 calculates the optimum aperture value and / or shutter speed from the values measured by the photometric device 5 according to the photographing mode. Normally, the photographer looks at the situation in the framing and determines whether the value is under or over. Then, the exposure compensator 2 is operated to adjust the exposure to a desired one. In the case of using an algorithm called evaluation photometry, this is automatically corrected so that the subject has an appropriate exposure.

As described above, it is troublesome for the photographer to store the exposure correction value, and it is difficult for the photographer's intention to be reflected in the automatic correction using the algorithm. Therefore, the photographer determines a correction value for the exposure correction to be automatically performed, and the exposure correction value is stored together with the photometric values of the respective areas calculated by the CPU 1 on the basis of the signals from the selected distance measuring point and the photometric element 5. Remember in 4. Then, using the selected focus detection points and the photometric distribution, the scene determination means 3 determines whether the scenes are similar. When it is determined that the scene is similar, the stored exposure correction value is called from the storage means 4 and automatically applied.

Next, the method of scene discrimination will be described.
In this embodiment, a 16-division photometric element corresponding to a focus detection point is used. The shaded area in FIG.
~ A4), the shaded portion in FIG. 4 is a B area (B5 to B11),
The shaded portion in FIG. 5 is defined as a C region (C12 to C15). The exposure value is calculated by the average value Si Si = average (A0, ..., C15)-(1) of all the sensors. From this, Tv and Av are calculated. next,
The brightness difference is calculated in the above-mentioned areas A, B, and C by the following equation.

The storage unit 4 stores Bi, ΔCi, the selected focus detection point, and the brightness value (Ax) of the sensor corresponding to the selected focus detection point. When the selected focus detection points match with the data (Sn, ΔAn, ΔBn, ΔCn) at the time of shooting and the following conditions are satisfied, it is regarded as a similar scene.

A focus position is determined from a plurality of distance measuring points. In S2, the photometric value of each sensor is calculated based on the photometric output of the photometric element divided into a plurality of parts. S in S3
The Tv value and Av value are calculated from the photometric value calculated in 2.
In S4, it is determined whether the scene is a similar scene from the selected focus detection points and the photometric values of each sensor. If it is not a similar scene, the process proceeds to S5, and an arbitrary exposure correction value is input. When the exposure correction value is input, the process proceeds to S6, the focus detection point, the photometric distribution, the photometric value and the exposure correction value are stored, the exposure value is calculated in S7, and the photographing is performed in S8. If the exposure correction value has not been input, the photometric conditions and the like are not stored, and the process proceeds directly to S7 to calculate the exposure value, and shooting is performed in S8.

The exposure correction value stored in is called and the correction amount is displayed. This value is applied to the current photometric value to calculate the exposure value in S11. After that, in S12, if the displayed correction amount does not match the intention, the exposure correction device 2 is operated, and the automatically determined correction value is canceled and the input value is applied. This value is applied to the current photometric value to calculate the exposure value in S13, and shooting is performed in S8. S
When the exposure compensator 2 is not operated in 12, the exposure value calculated in S11 is used as it is to perform the photographing in S8.

As is apparent from the above description, the exposure compensation value desired by the photographer is automatically adapted by discriminating similar scenes so that the desired exposure compensation can be instantaneously performed. This has the effect of contributing to improved shooting and operability. Also, if the correction value called by the automatic exposure compensation does not match the intended correction amount in the current shooting scene, the automatic exposure compensation can be easily canceled and the correction amount can be input, so that a more advanced manual adjustment is possible. It also has the effect of enabling usage. Furthermore, by making it possible to change the stored correction amount, it is possible to easily change the preference.
