(57) [Problem] To enable correct writing of track address information to a PMA even if writing is interrupted due to running out of battery while writing data to an optical disk. SOLUTION: When a power supply voltage of a battery 11 becomes lower than a preset reference voltage, a CPU 7 writes write status information indicating whether or not track address information has been written to an optical disc 1 in a nonvolatile memory 8. When it is determined that the track address information has not been written to the optical disc 1 based on the write status information stored in the nonvolatile memory 8 when the power is turned on again, the track address information is written to the optical disc 1 and Unloading of the optical disk 1 is prohibited until the writing is completed.

The write status information indicating whether or not the track address information has been written in the area (PMA) is stored in the non-volatile memory, and when the power is turned on again by battery replacement or the like,
If it is determined from the write status information in the nonvolatile memory that the user data has been written and the track address information has not been written to the PMA, the auto-eject of the optical disc is prohibited and the track address information is written to the PMA. It is possible to solve the problem that the other user data is overwritten in the already written user data area because the writing is not completed, and the first written user data is erased.

PM
When it is determined that the track address information has been written in A but the user data has not been written, the user data is overwritten on the optical disk, the ejection of the optical disk is prohibited until the writing is completed, and the track address is written in PMA. When it is determined that the information has not been written, the user data is written after writing to the PMA, and the ejection of the optical disk is prohibited until the writing is completed. Therefore, since the PMA has been written, the user data has already been written. It is possible to prevent the user from erroneously recognizing that the area has been written, writing another user data on the next track, and leaving the first written area as an empty area and wasting it.

There are a lead-in area and a lead-out area before and after the track where the user data of each session is written, respectively. In the lead-in area, session track information such as a table of contents (TOC) is written. Information on the end of the session is written in the lead-out area.
