Description of the Related Art In a bulk rolling process, impurities such as blooms and defects present on the surface of a steel material are removed by hot cutting the surface of the steel material. In the hot scarf, the tip of the steel material is stopped at a crater unit having a scarf nozzle for ejecting oxygen and propane gas on each of four sides, up, down, left, and right. The crater unit adheres so that each side follows the bloom according to the size of the steel material. Bloom ablation is accomplished by igniting a propane burner and moving the bloom continuously in the longitudinal direction after preheating for a specified time. At this time, the depth of cutting and the like are determined by the bloom moving speed, the propane amount, the oxygen amount, and the like. The cutting conditions vary depending on the type of steel and the method of manufacturing the steel material.

The operator checks the surface condition of the bloom at the time of cutting by using a camera, etc., while controlling the operation of the bloom, such as stopping and moving the bloom, opening and closing the crater unit, and controlling the amount of oxygen, propane, and billet speed. The main work is to monitor abnormal abnormalities and maintain normal cutting.

Bloom immediately after scarf work has a surface temperature of 1000 ° C
Therefore, the burden on workers is heavy. In addition, since the bloom surface immediately after the scarf is oxidized in a short time and the bloom surface is covered with the oxide, the confirmation is in a limited narrow range immediately after the scarf operation. However, in a place where the oxide is not covered, there is an injury such as scattering of spatters in the scarf and generation of water vapor due to cooling water, so that it is difficult to check the dripping or the remaining after cutting. In addition, it has been found that these drips and cutting residues become harmful defects during rolling, which is a lower process, so that the occurrence of these degrades the slab quality and requires extra labor to remove harmful defects. As a result, there is a problem that the provision of inexpensive and quick products is hindered. In addition, when the scarf work is automated with respect to the conventional operator work method, a function to automatically detect the occurrence of dripping and residual cutting and control the work of the scarf such as adjusting the amount of oxygen and propane is essential. The hot water part has hot water-like streaks distributed on the bloom surface, and has a higher temperature or brightness than a normal steel single surface. Conversely, the remaining portion of the ablated portion is lower in temperature and luminance than the normal portion. Accordingly, the CCD camera or thermometer in the hot water inspection apparatus according to the present invention utilizes this phenomenon to convert the temperature or brightness of the imaged bloom surface into an electric signal. The image processing device is a device for processing this signal continuously in the longitudinal direction of the bloom. In the signal processing by the image processing device, it is possible to determine the presence or absence of the uncut portion and the drip, and to display the determined result. Therefore, the quality of the scarf work is determined and notified by determining whether or not the scarf work has occurred, by taking an image with a camera of the hot water or the remaining part of the cutting and determining whether or not the scarf work has occurred.

The drive control unit 7 stops the bloom 1 in front of the scarf unit 30 according to the signal of the presence sensor 4. The thermometer 8 measures the temperature of the billet in advance, and notifies the image processing device 52 of the temperature. The scarf unit 30 includes a crater unit 31 (two sides are not shown) provided with nozzles for ejecting oxygen and propane gas which are disposed so as to face the four side surfaces of the bloom 1 to face each other. Is provided with a water nozzle unit (not shown) for cooling the water. The crater units 31 are each independent,
Move the crater position according to the dimensions of the bloom 1 that has stopped. Then the crater unit 3 is instructed by the crater control unit 6.
Oxygen and propane gas are ejected from 1 and the roller table 2 is operated to start a scarf operation for fusing the steel billet surface. When the rear end of the billet reaches the crater unit 31, the crater control unit 6 issues a scarf end signal, stops the ejection of oxygen and propane, and
1 is returned to the position before the scarf work, and the cooling water is jetted from the water nozzle.

The optimal operation time of the one-dimensional CCD camera 51 is selected by the image processing device 52 from the billet temperature measured in advance. The one-dimensional CCD camera 51 captures the position immediately after the scarf unit 30, captures the image within a predetermined time, and stores it in the memory of the image processing device 52. The imaging by the one-dimensional CCD camera 51 is performed until the crater control unit 6 sends a scarf end signal. In the image processing device 52, since the moving speed of the roller table 2 can be obtained from the drive control unit 7 at the same time, it is possible to calculate the position of each line stored in the memory. Further, since the luminance of the surface of the bloom 1 is much brighter than that of the background image, it is possible to detect the range in the width direction of the bloom 1 within one line by performing binarization processing. The imaging by the one-dimensional CCD camera 51 is continuously performed until the end of the scarf work. FIG.
Schematically shows the position of the camera at the side surface of the bloom, but since the occurrence of hot water or the uncut portion also occurs on the upper surface of the bloom 1, the one-dimensional C
A CD camera 51 is provided.

The brightness of the surface of the bloom 1 is usually slightly brighter at the center in the width direction of the bloom 1 than at the ends in the width direction. This is because the temperature is higher in the center. However, when a dripping occurs due to an abnormality in the scarf work or the like, since the temperature of the dripping part a is several tens degrees higher than the normal surface of the bloom 1, the luminance distribution becomes as shown in FIG. On the other hand, since the temperature distribution of the abrasion residue b is lower than that of the normal scarf 1 surface, a partial depression as shown in FIG. 4 occurs. The image processing device 52 continuously accumulates signals of such image data. In order to remove a noise portion of the signal, a signal obtained by continuation of several images is averaged, and using this signal, the presence / absence of a hot water a and a fusing residue b is determined.

Since the luminance signal of the CCD camera 51 has a logarithmic relationship with temperature in principle, the luminance level is converted into a temperature value. The judging of the hot water is performed with the converted value. A temperature difference c between the hot water a and the normal part and a difference d between the image position are set. Each of them has a unique threshold value, and a case where c exceeds the threshold value and d does not exceed the threshold value is determined as a candidate for a drip a. If the hot water candidate occurs N times or more during a specific length, it is determined as a hot water portion. Similarly, the same determination is performed on the remaining portion b by using different threshold values.

Have different surface temperatures. CCD camera 51
In this case, since the temperature measurement range for the specific operation time is narrow, the operation time may be changed even during the needless imaging. After performing the signal processing on the entire length of the bloom 1, the image processing device 52 creates a map for specifying the positions of the hot water and the uncut portion. When the hot water and the uncut residue occur, an alarm signal is output to the crater control unit 6 and an alarm is displayed to the operator.

As a result, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of the drooling or the uncut residue by changing the cutting conditions during the scarf work or from the next material due to the occurrence of the dripping or the uncut residue. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the degradation of the bloom quality and to reduce the number of steps required for removing defects caused by the drain and scarf, thereby contributing to cost reduction. In addition, even in a bloom in which the occurrence has been detected, it is possible to inform the lower process of the location where the hot water or the uncut portion remains, so that the defect can be efficiently removed. In addition, by accumulating the mechanism of the generation of the hot water and feeding it back to the scarf control, there is an effect that the control technology of the scarf in which the hot water and the scarf residue do not occur is improved. In addition, there is an effect that it can be used as a monitoring device for enabling automatic operation of future scarf work.
