Abstract

(57)【要約】 【構成】 映像デコーダ１４から出力された映像信号お
よびサブピクチャデコーダから出力されたサブピクチャ
信号を含む付加情報信号のそれぞれが、画像圧縮回路１
８および２０によって個別に圧縮される。圧縮された映
像信号および付加情報信号は画像合成回路２２によって
合成され、モニタ２４には放送映像と付加情報とが並列
して表示される。 【効果】 放送映像と付加情報とがモニタに並列して表
示されるため、付加情報によって放送映像が妨げられる
ことはない。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明はテレビジョン受像機に
関し、特にたとえばディジタルテレビジョン放送におい
て映像および文字情報をモニタに同時に表示する、テレ
ビジョン受像機に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】ディジタル放送では、その特性を活かし
て多くのチャネルのディジタルデータが放送され、番組
選択を容易にするために、それぞれの映像データに番組
ガイドデータが付加されている。このため、従来のこの
種のテレビジョン受像機では、付随するリモコンに表示
制御キーが設けられており、その表示制御キーが押され
ると、図６に示すように番組ガイドが放送映像の上にス
ーパーインポーズされる。したがって、オペレータは番
組ガイドを用いて容易に所望の番組を選択することがで
きる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、このような従
来技術では、番組ガイドによって放送映像のほとんどが
消されてしまうという問題があった。それゆえに、この
発明の主たる目的は、番組ガイドによって放送映像の表
示が妨げられることがない、テレビジョン受像機を提供
することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、映像および
付加情報をモニタに同時に表示するテレビジョン受像機
において、映像信号を圧縮する第１圧縮手段、付加情報
信号を圧縮する第２圧縮手段、および第１圧縮手段およ
び第２圧縮手段の出力を合成してモニタに出力する出力
手段を備えることを特徴とする、テレビジョン受像機で
ある。
【０００５】
【作用】第１圧縮手段によって映像信号が圧縮され、第
２圧縮手段によって付加情報信号が圧縮される。出力手
段は第１圧縮手段の出力と第２圧縮手段の出力とを合成
してモニタに出力する。これによって、映像と付加情報
とがモニタに同時に表示される。
【０００６】なお、オペレータが表示制御キーを操作す
れば、不能化手段によって第１圧縮手段が不能化され、
第１圧縮手段からは圧縮されない映像信号が出力され
る。また、制御手段は、圧縮されない映像信号のみが出
力手段から出力されるように、出力手段を制御する。し
たがって、モニタには映像のみが表示される。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、映像信号および付加
情報信号を圧縮して、映像および付加情報をモニタに同
時に表示するようにしたため、付加情報によって映像が
妨げられることはない。なお、付加情報が不要のときは
表示制御キーを操作することによって映像のみをモニタ
に表示することができる。
【０００８】この発明の上述の目的，その他の目的，特
徴および利点は、図面を参照して行う以下の実施例の詳
細な説明から一層明らかとなろう。

【実施例】図１を参照して、この実施例のテレビジョン
受像機１０はディジタル放送受信回路１２を含む。ディ
ジタル放送受信回路１２は受信したディジタル放送デー
タに含まれるかつ符号化された映像データおよびサブピ
クチャデータを検出し、映像データを映像デコーダ１４
に、サブピクチャデータをサブピクチャデコーダ１６に
出力する。映像デコーダ１４は、入力された映像データ
をデコードするとともにＤ／Ａ変換し、アナログの映像
信号を画像圧縮回路１８に与える。サブピクチャデコー
ダ１６もまた、サブピクチャデータをデコードしかつア
ナログのサブピクチャ信号に変換し、それを表示画面回
路に与える。表示画面生成回路３３は、所定の表示画面
信号にサブピクチャ信号を合成することによって付加情
報信号、たとえば番組ガイド信号を生成する。なお、サ
ブピクチャ信号には文字情報信号のほかにビットマップ
信号や描画信号（線や四角など）も含まれている。
【００１０】画像圧縮回路１８および２０はマイコン２
６からの制御信号に従って能動化あるいは不能化され
る。すなわち、画像圧縮回路１８および２０は能動化信
号を受けると映像信号および付加情報信号を１／２に圧
縮するが、不能化信号が与えられると、映像信号および
付加情報信号を圧縮することなく、そのまま出力する。
映像信号および付加情報信号が圧縮されたときは、画像
合成回路はマイコン２６からの制御信号に従って、圧縮
された映像信号および付加情報信号を合成し、合成信号
をモニタ２４に出力する。一方、たとえば画像圧縮回路
１８が不能化されたときは、画像合成回路には圧縮され
ない映像信号が与えられ、画像合成回路２２はマイコン
２６からの制御信号に従ってその映像信号のみをモニタ
２４に出力する。
【００１１】このため、画像合成回路２２から合成信号
が出力されたときは、モニタ２４には、たとえば図２に
示すように番組ガイド（付加情報）と放送映像とが同時
に表示される。一方、画像合成回路２２から映像信号の
みが出力されたときは、図３に示すように、モニタ２４
の全面に放送映像が表示される。マイコン２６はリモコ
ン３０からの赤外線信号を受ける受光器２８からのリモ
コンデータを受け、図４に示すフロー図を処理する。す
なわち、まずステップＳ１でリモコンデータを受け、ス
テップＳ３でそのリモコンデータから番組ガイド表示キ
ー３２が押されたかどうかを判断する。そして、“Ｎ
Ｏ”であれば、ステップＳ５で他の処理を行うが、“Ｙ
ＥＳ”であれば、ステップＳ７で、現時点でモニタ２４
に番組ガイドが表示されているかどうか判断する。
【００１２】そして、番組ガイドが表示されていなけれ
ば、ステップＳ９で画像圧縮回路１８および２０に能動
化信号を与え、映像信号および文字情報信号を１／２に
圧縮する。その後、画像合成回路２２を制御して、圧縮
された映像信号および付加情報信号を合成する。一方、
ステップＳ７で番組ガイドが表示されていると判断する
と、ステップＳ１３で画像圧縮回路１８を不能化し、ス
テップＳ１５で映像信号のみが出力されるように画像合
成回路２２を制御する。
【００１３】このように映像デコーダ１４およびサブピ
クチャデコーダ１６のそれぞれから出力された映像信号
および付加情報信号を、画像圧縮回路１８および２０に
よって１／２に圧縮するようにしたため、モニタ２４に
は放送映像および付加情報が並列に表示される。したが
って、放送映像の視聴を妨げることなく次の番組の検索
や予約が可能になる。また、放送映像を見ながら付加情
報すなわち番組ガイドを操作できるため、放送番組の進
行に合わせた操作が可能になる。
【００１４】なお、この実施例では放送映像および番組
ガイドを同時に表示するときに、画像圧縮回路１８およ
び２０の圧縮率を１／２に設定したが、画像圧縮回路１
８の圧縮率を大きくし、画像圧縮回路２０の圧縮率をゼ
ロにすれば、モニタ２４には図４に示すように放送映像
および番組ガイドが表示される。したがって、このとき
は放送映像が番組ガイドによって妨げられることなく番
組ガイドの操作性を向上させることができる。
【００１５】また、ステップＳ１１のサブルーチンとし
て、オペレータからの指示に従って映像信号および付加
情報信号の合成タイミングを切り換えるステップを設け
るようにすれば、放送映像および操作画面の表示位置を
左右で切り換えることができる。なお、付加情報として
は、番組ガイドの他にテレビショッピングやテレビ投票
を行うための情報、放送センターからのメール情報など
があり、所定キーを操作すれば、モニタにはこれらの情
報が表示される。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】映像および付加情報をモニタに同時に表示
    するテレビジョン受像機において、 映像信号を圧縮する第１圧縮手段、 付加情報信号を圧縮する第２圧縮手段、および前記第１
    圧縮手段および前記第２圧縮手段の出力を合成して前記
    モニタに出力する出力手段を備えることを特徴とする、
    テレビジョン受像機。
  2. 【請求項２】表示制御キー、 前記表示制御キーの操作に応じて前記第１圧縮手段を不
    能化して、前記第１圧縮手段から圧縮されない映像信号
    を出力させる不能化手段、および前記表示制御キーが操
    作されたとき前記第１圧縮手段からの前記映像信号のみ
    を前記出力手段から出力するように制御する制御手段を
    さらに備える、請求項１記載のテレビジョン受像機。
