Further, by using a plurality of ink nozzles, it is easy to perform multi-color recording, and multi-color ink jet recording is performed by various ink jet recording methods. In particular, use of an ink jet printer capable of forming a complex image quickly and accurately has attracted attention as a hard copy creation device for image information such as characters, various figures, and photographs created by a computer. Further, image information created by these computers is recorded on a transparent recording sheet by an ink jet printer, and this is also used as a document such as an OHP (overhead projector). In recent years, inkjet printers, which have attracted special attention, are used in applications where color image quality similar to photographs is required, such as color printing in the printing field, design image output in the design department, and large inkjet plotters. These are large format posters, displays, flags, etc. that can be easily created. Furthermore, in recent years, digital photographic images have become familiar, as represented by digital cameras, and attempts have been made to output these images with inexpensive inkjet printers. Inkjet printers equipped with exclusive modes and inks for photography have also been released. ing.

In other words, when printing was performed using these recording sheets, the ink bleeding was large, the gloss was low, and it was not very usable. Also, when these conventional recording sheets are used for large-sized inkjet plotters, posters that require a high coloring density can cause the paper to be wavy due to a large amount of ink and become ugly in appearance. In addition, the color density is low.

When the surface of the ink absorbing layer is non-porous, the light transmittance is improved. However, there was a problem that the length was longer.

In such a case, the unevenness in the solid printing portion worsens, which is not preferable. Further, the weight ratio between the upper layer and the lower layer of the ink receiving layer is 8
If the ratio is larger than / 2, the ink absorbency deteriorates and the surface of the printed portion becomes sticky, which is not preferable.

If the coating amount of the upper layer is less than 1 g / m 2 , the ink overflows, resulting in an unsightly image. Further, even if the amount of application of the lower layer is increased in order to reduce the overflow of the ink, the absorption of the ink becomes uneven and the image becomes similarly unsightly. When the coating amount of the upper layer exceeds 10 g / m 2 , there is no problem in ink absorbency, but the curl characteristics of the sheet are significantly deteriorated at low or high humidity. Further, the cracking property may be deteriorated, and cracks may be generated during transportation by the printer. When the coating amount of the lower layer is less than 1 g / m 2 , the absorbability of the high boiling point solvent contained in the ink is deteriorated, and the surface of the printed portion becomes extremely sticky. This stickiness is not reduced even if the coating amount of the upper layer is increased. If the coating amount of the lower layer exceeds 10 g / m 2 , although there is no problem of stickiness of the printed portion, the curl characteristics of the sheet are significantly deteriorated at low humidity or high humidity. Further, the cracking property may be deteriorated, and cracks may be generated during transportation by the printer.

い。It is preferable that the ink receiving layer in the present invention is dried by a so-called cold drying method in which the ink receiving layer is once brought into a gel state and then dried at a low temperature. This is a method of drying at a low temperature in order to form a uniform film surface utilizing the sol and gelation phenomena of gelatin. The drying process is described in "Coating Engineering" by Yuji Harasaki (1976, Asakura Shoten), 2
Material preheating period as described on pages 78-281,
The evaporation amount of the solvent per unit time, that is, the constant-rate drying period of the drying process in which the evaporation rate of the solvent is constant, thereafter, the evaporation rate of the solvent gradually decreases, and almost no vapor is generated (that is, the coating film is almost completely evaporated). 3) of reduced drying period of the drying process up to the equilibrium moisture content under hot and humid conditions of the outside air.
The process is divided into two processes, and if necessary, a humidity control period may be provided. Usually, drying is completed when the equilibrium water content of about 5 to 8% is reached. However, if the temperature of the film surface during the drying process (this temperature is referred to as surface wet bulb temperature) is lowered, a uniform coating film is obtained. And a high quality ink receiving layer is obtained. After applying the ink receiving layer coating solution, the coating layer is cooled and set (gelled) when the surface wet bulb temperature is below the gelling temperature of the coating solution, and then the receiving layer is gradually cooled at a temperature below the gelling temperature of the coating solution. To dry. After the solvent evaporates and the solids concentration increases, the temperature may be raised to such an extent that set return does not occur, followed by drying.

Coated. In the case of a resin that is cured by an electron beam, the resin is applied by a commonly used coater such as a gravure coater or a blade coater, and then irradiated with an electron beam to cure and coat the resin. Further, before coating the resin on the base paper, the base paper is preferably subjected to an activation treatment such as a corona discharge treatment or a flame treatment. The surface (surface) of the support on which the ink receiving layer is applied has a glossy surface, a matte surface, and the like, depending on the application, and the glossy surface is used particularly advantageously. It is not necessary to coat the back surface with a resin, but it is preferable to coat the resin from the viewpoint of curling prevention. The back surface is usually a matte surface, and the front surface or both front and back surfaces can be subjected to an activation treatment such as a corona discharge treatment or a flame treatment as required. The thickness of the coating resin layer is not particularly limited, but is generally 5 to 50 μm thick on the surface or on both sides.

Then, the ink was passed through a drying zone where the temperature was gradually higher, and the temperature and humidity of the drying zone were controlled so that the surface wet bulb temperature was 20 ° C. or lower, thereby producing an ink jet recording sheet. The composition of the ink receiving layer coating liquid is as shown below.
