As the height adjustment mechanism of the armrest portion, the support portion is configured to be extendable and retractable with the outer rod and the inner rod, and the fixed side rod is formed with engagement holes at regular intervals in the vertical direction, and the movable side The height of which is adjusted in multiple steps by engaging and disengaging an engaging claw that protrudes and disappears from the rod,
Alternatively, there is a type in which the height of the armrest is adjusted steplessly by a gas cylinder disposed in the support, and an operation member for operating the engaging claw or operating the gas cylinder is disposed inside or near the armrest. There is a structure that is linked to the lever that has been set.

As the angle adjusting mechanism of the armrest, the central portion of the armrest is pivotally attached to the upper end of the support so as to be tiltable, and a plurality of engagement recesses are formed at predetermined intervals in the front and rear ends of the support. In addition, there is a type in which a projection protruding from one of front and rear ends of an armrest is elastically fitted into the engagement recess to adjust the angle, and a structure or a lever for operating the armrest is provided on the armrest. Exists.

The height adjustment mechanism and the angle adjustment mechanism are completely independent mechanisms, and a lever for operating each of them is provided at or near the armrest. Therefore, when adjusting both the height and the angle of the armrest, each lever must be operated, and the operation is not only troublesome but also impairs the appearance because the lever is exposed. There is also a problem. In addition, when adjusting the height and angle of the armrest, the arm beyond the elbow must be separated from the armrest, so after adjustment, put the arm on the armrest and check the adjustment condition, If bad, it had to be adjusted again. Alternatively, since the adjustment was performed with the hand on the opposite side of the arm on the armrest, the operation was impossible.

The support portion is formed of a support arm and an elevating body so as to engage and hold the armrest portion at a predetermined height on the support portion and disengage the engagement by the displacement of the operation member. A lifting rod, which constitutes an elevating body fixed to a fixed portion of the armrest portion, is disposed within the supporting pipe so as to be vertically movable and elastically urged upward, and a vertical hole is formed along the center of the side surface of the supporting pipe; Engaging recesses are formed at regular intervals at the front edge of the vertical hole, and the central portion of the operating rod constituting the operating member is pivotally attached to the upper and lower central portions of the elevating rod by a support shaft. An engagement pin that penetrates a horizontally long hole formed in a lower portion of the lifting rod and is engageable with the engagement recess. In addition to a height adjusting mechanism loosely fitted to the lower end of the operating rod, an armrest provided at the upper end of the support is engaged and held at a predetermined angle, and the armrest is opposed to an elastic urging force in a forward direction. An angle adjustment mechanism that releases the engagement by moving the arm adjustment part to a moving part of the angle adjustment mechanism, and moving the armrest part forward to adjust the height. An armrest device for a chair is provided which can adjust the angle and return to the backward direction to maintain the set height and the set angle.

The engagement shaft 39 is located at the front end of the engagement groove 37 (see FIG. 2). When the armrest 6, that is, the tilting member 10 is moved forward against the elastic biasing force of the tension coil spring 41, the support shaft 38 fixed to the tilting member 10 moves along the long hole 31 of the fixing member 9. And the engaging groove 37 slides forward with respect to the engaging shaft 39 whose movement amount is regulated by the through hole 32 of the fixing member 9, and the engaging shaft 39 (See FIG. 3). As the tilting member 10 moves forward, the upper end of the operating rod 20 located between the pins 42 is pushed forward and the lower end of the operating rod 20 is The engagement pin 24 moves rearward, and is disengaged from the engagement recess 19 to be positioned in the vertical hole 18 (see FIG. 3). In this state, the vertical angle of the armrest 6 with respect to the support shaft 38 can be adjusted by raising or lowering the armrest 6, that is, the front part of the tilting member 10. The height of the lifting body 8 can be adjusted with respect to the armrest 6.
Is set to a predetermined angle and a predetermined height, and then the armrest portion 6, that is, the tilting member 10 is moved rearward by the elastic biasing force of the tension coil spring 41, the engaging shaft 37 At the same time as the engagement angle is maintained by the engagement of the engagement pins 39, the engagement pins 24 are engaged with any of the engagement recesses 19, and the set height is maintained.

The height and angle of the armrest can be adjusted with a simple operation. For example, when operating the keyboard of a word processor or personal computer placed on a desk top, set the height of the armrests to approximately the same height as the desk top, and place the upper front end of the armrests in front of the desk top. Even if the wrist part is easily supported by connecting to the rim, the optimum distance from the shoulder to the elbow can be ensured by setting the angle of the armrest. In addition, the armrest itself can be used like a conventional operation lever without providing any lever for adjusting the height and angle, so that the appearance is also excellent. Furthermore, since the height adjusting mechanism is simple, highly reliable and has a highly durable structure, it is possible to provide an armrest device capable of optimally adjusting the posture of the armrest portion while suppressing an increase in cost.
