- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.a)第1及び第2主要表面を有する着色バインダー層;及びb)前記着色 バインダー層の第1主要表面に部分的に埋め込まれた部分を有し、且つ、そこか ら部分的に突き出た部分を有するガラス又はセラミック微小球の層;を含む微小 球が露出している再帰反射製品であって、前記バインダー層及び前記微小球の層 が、昼間の照明条件下で見た場合に実質的に異なる再帰反射度を示し、且つ、顕 著に異なる色を呈する第1及び第2セグメントに分けられており、前記第1セグ メントが微小球の層の埋め込まれた部分に配置された反射性金属層を有し、そし て前記第2セグメントが微小球の層の埋め込まれた部分の後方に機能的に配置さ れた反射性金属層を有しないことを特徴とする、微小球が露出している再起反射 製品。 2.第1セグメントがASTM E 810-93bに従って試験された場合に少なくとも3 30カンデラ毎ルクス毎平方メートルの再帰反射係数を示し、且つ、第1セグメ ントと第2セグメントがASTM E 810-93bに従って試験された場合に少なくとも2 5カンデラ毎ルクス毎平方メートルの再帰反射係数の違いを示す、請求項1記載 の再帰反射製品。 3.第1及び第2セグメントがASTM E308-90に従って試験された場合に少なく とも1.01の色対比を与える請求項1〜2のいずれか1項に記載の再帰反射製 品。 4.色対比が少なくとも1.08である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の 再帰反射製品。 5.第1セグメントが昼間の照明条件下で灰色を呈し、そして第2セグメント が蛍光性である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の再帰反射製品。 6.第1及び第2セグメントが一体構築物として形成され、且つ、第1及び第 2セグメントがバインダー層の前記第1面上にガラス又はセラミック微小球の実 質的に均一な単層を含み、そして第2セグメントがASTM E810-93b に従って試験 された場合に第1セグメントよりも実質的に再帰反射性が低い、請求項1〜5の いずれか1項に記載の再帰反射製品。 7.第2セグメントが微小球の層の後方に機能的に配置された誘電体ミラーを 有する請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の再帰反射製品。 8.前記第2主要セグメントがASTM E810-93b に従って試験された場合に50 〜500カンデラ毎ルクス毎平方メートルの再帰反射係数を示し、前記第1主要 セグメントがASTM E810-93b に従って試験された場合に少なくとも500カンデ ラ毎ルクス毎平方メートルの再帰反射係数を示す、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項 に記載の再帰反射製品。 9.反射性金属層が元素状のアルミニウムを含み、且つ、前記第1バインダー 層セグメントが、活性水素官能基を有するポリマー材料及び1種以上のイソシア ネート官能性シランカップリング剤を含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載 の再帰反射製品。 10.バインダー層の第2面が衣服製品に固定される基材に固定される請求項 1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の再帰反射製品。 11. (a)微小球の層をキャリヤー上で支持すること; (b)微小球の層の第1部分がその後方に機能的にコーティングされた反射性 金属層を有し、且つ、第2部分がそのような反射性金属層を有しないように、支 持された微小球の層に反射性金属層を選択的に蒸着すること; (c)微小球の層をバインダー層の第1主要表面に部分的に埋め 込むこと;次いで (d)微小球の層がバインダー層の第1主要表面に部分的に埋め込まれたまま 残って第1及び第2セグメントを有する再帰性反射製品が形成されるように微小 球の層からキャリヤーを除去すること、但し、前記第1セグメントは微小球の埋 め込まれた部分の後方に機能的に配置された蒸着された反射性金属層を有する; を含む再帰反射製品を製造する方法。 12.反射性金属層が、マスクを通して反射性金属を蒸着することにより適用 される、請求項11記載の方法。 13.マスクが、蒸着工程時に金属蒸気を通す開口部を画定する金属分子を通 さない表面を有する、請求項11〜12記載の方法。 14.マスク中の開口部が1〜10センチメートルの幅である縞の形態である 、請求項11〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 15.バインダー層を切断し、縞の形態の第1セグメントを各々有する多数の 再帰反射製品とすることを更に含む、請求項14記載の方法。 16.バインダー層が、異なるポリマー組成物を含む第1及び第2バインダー 層セグメントを含む、請求項11〜15のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 17.微小球の層が、3つの異なるダイを通じて第1及び第2バインダー層セ グメント組成物を同時押出し、微小球の層が埋め込まれた3つのバインダー層セ グメントとすることによって、第1及び第2バインダー層セグメント組成物に部 分的に埋め込まれる、請求項11〜16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。 18.人により着用又は携帯されるような大きさ又は形状に形作られた衣服製 品であって、 (1)a)第1及び第2主要表面を有する着色バインダー層;及び b)前記着色バインダー層の第1主要表面に部分的に埋め込まれた部分を有する 微小球の層;を含む再帰反射製品であって、前記バインダー層及び前記微小球の 層が、昼間の照明条件下で見た場合に実質的に異なる再帰反射度を示し、且つ、 顕著に異なる色を呈する第1及び第2セグメントに分けられており、前記第1セ グメントが微小球の層の埋め込まれた部分に配置された反射性金属層を有し、そ して前記第2セグメントが微小球の層の埋め込まれた部分の後方に機能的に配置 された反射性金属層を有しないことを特徴とする微小球が露出している再帰反射 製品;及び (2)前記再帰反射製品が固定される基材であって、第2表面を有し、その第1 表面がバインダー層の第2表面に面する基材; を含む衣服製品。 19.シャツ、セーター、上着、コート、パンツ、靴、靴下、手袋、ベルト、 帽子、スーツ、ワンピースの衣服、バッグ、バックパック、ヘルメットからなる 群より選ばれる請求項18記載の衣服製品。
