Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink from leaking out of an ink chamber by locating an inlet near the meeting part of the leading edge of a doctor blade and the head of a partition member and by providing an ink sucking means to suck and discharge ink out of the ink chamber. SOLUTION: A pipe 22 through which ink runs is connected to an inlet 18 on the vertical wall section 17 of a chamber body 2, and ink getting into the ink chamber 11 returns to an ink source through a pipe 23 from an outlet 19. In such a case, an ink sucking means 24 which sucks ink flowing toward a meeting part 16 and discharges it out of the ink chamber 11, is provided. This ink sucking means 24 makes a suction pipe 26 whose suction opening 25 is located near the meeting part 16 penetrate into the vertical wall section 17, sucks ink flowing along the longitudinal direction of a doctor blade 9 from the suction opening 25, and discharges it out of the ink chamber by the action of the suction pump provided on the other end, thus preventing ink from leaking from between a partition member 4 and a plate cylinder a.

In recent years, in the inking of a gravure printing machine, a method has been proposed in which a part of a printing plate cylinder is immersed in the ink of an ink pan so that the ink adheres to the peripheral surface of the printing plate cylinder. Instead, for example, an ink chamber has been proposed in which an ink chamber closed to the outside can be formed by being attached to a printing plate cylinder. FIGS. 5 to 9 show the ink chamber. The ink chamber 1 includes a chamber body 2 having a substantially C-shaped cross section formed of an aluminum member or the like. A partition member 4 made of a synthetic resin foam material is attached to both ends of the chamber body 2 by using an attachment plate 5 so as to face the groove 3 so as to face the groove 3 and to cover the sides of the groove 3. It is attached and fixed. The partition member 4 has a tapered shape toward the printing plate cylinder a, and the front end portion 6 thereof comes into sliding contact with the peripheral surface b of the printing plate cylinder a. A seal plate 7 made of a synthetic resin plate or the like is attached to the upstream side in the rotation direction of the printing plate cylinder a of the chamber body 2, that is, a lower portion of the chamber body 2 on the printing plate cylinder side. Of the printing plate cylinder a slides on the peripheral surface b of the printing plate cylinder a.
Further, a doctor blade 9 made of a mild steel material or the like is attached to the downstream side in the rotation direction of the printing plate cylinder a in the chamber main body 2 (upper part of the chamber main body 2 on the printing plate cylinder side). Partition member 4
Is in sliding contact with the peripheral surface b of the printing plate cylinder a. In this way, the groove 3 of the chamber body 2 is surrounded by the partition member 4, the seal plate 7, and the doctor blade 9, and the leading end of the groove 3 is brought into sliding contact with the peripheral surface b of the printing plate cylinder a. The ink chamber 11 is provided so that the ink is fed into the ink chamber 11 from an ink supply unit (not shown), and the ink adheres to the peripheral surface of the rotating printing plate cylinder a. The partition member 4 and the seal plate 7 prevent ink from leaking to the outside, and serve to scrape unnecessary ink from the peripheral surface b as well as the doctor blade 9. Both ends 12 of the seal plate 7 are in close contact with the lower surface 13 of the partition member 4, and both ends 14 of the doctor blade 9 are in close contact with the upper surface 15 of the partition member 4. In the drawing, reference numeral 2a denotes a holding plate for attaching the seal plate 7 to the lower slope of the chamber body 2, and 2b denotes a holding plate for attaching the doctor blade 9 to the upper slope of the chamber body 2.

In the ink chamber having the above structure, ink in the ink chamber adheres to the peripheral surface of the printing plate cylinder while the peripheral surface of the printing plate cylinder moves between the distal end edge of the seal plate and the distal end edge of the doctor blade. Excess ink is scraped off by the doctor blade, but the ink moves up from the leading edge of the seal plate toward the leading edge of the doctor blade along the circumferential surface by moving the circumferential surface in one direction. A strong and large upward flow A occurs in the ink chamber (see FIG. 8). Then, the upward flow A separates along the doctor blade, and a gathering portion 1 of the leading edge of the doctor blade, the leading end of the partition member, and the peripheral surface of the printing plate cylinder.
6 at a high pressure, so that the ink leaks to the outside while passing between the peripheral surface of the printing plate cylinder and the tip of the partition member. There has been a problem in that the toner adheres to the cylinder and stains the peripheral surface, and stains printed matter (see FIG. 9).

That is, the present invention has an ink suction means 24 for sucking ink flowing toward the collecting portion 16 and discharging the ink to the outside of the ink chamber 11. As shown in the drawing, the ink suction means 24 allows a suction pipe 26 having a suction port 25 located near the collecting portion 16 to penetrate the vertical wall portion 17, and a suction pump 27 provided at the other end of the suction pipe 26.
The operation of the suction pipe 27 sucks ink flowing along the longitudinal direction of the doctor blade 9 from the suction port 25 and discharges the ink to the outside of the ink chamber 11. The discharged ink is returned to the ink supply source 20 and then sent out to the ink chamber 11 via the supply pump 21 and the pipe 22. Since the ink flowing toward the collecting portion is suctioned and sent to the outside in this manner, the force of the ink flowing toward the collecting portion is weakened, and the pressure when the ink hits the collecting portion is reduced, Ink does not leak out from between the partition member and the printing plate cylinder. In the first example, the suction port 25 is made wide to make it easy to catch the ink flow.

Are provided, and the introduction direction of the suction pipe 26 into the ink chamber 11 is different. That is, in the second example, the suction pipe 26 is provided so as to penetrate the partition member 4 and the mounting plate 5 so that the suction port 25 is located near the collecting portion 16, and the suction port 25 is further connected to the doctor blade. 9 is provided so as to be able to be sucked without largely changing the direction of ink flowing along the longitudinal direction of the doctor blade 9. Although only one of the ink chambers is shown in the drawing, the other end is similarly configured. In the illustrated embodiment, the pipe 23 is naturally discharged by the internal pressure of the chamber and the supply amount of ink. However, when it is difficult to control the internal pressure of the chamber by the function of the ink suction means, the ink is supplied only from the suction pipe. May be arranged outside the ink chamber.
