Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase/decrease a count of rinsing containers and chemical solution containers in accordance with an executed staining method by making a nozzle freely attachable/detachable to any one of discharge ports by a cap nut and allowing the discharge port without the nozzle fitted to be freely shut by a plug. SOLUTION: When a different count of rinsing containers is required, the count can be optionally changed within a count of discharge ports 17 formed in a font face of a water feed manifold 15. That is, when the rinsing containers are to be set, base end parts of nozzles 12 are fitted by cap nuts 16 to the discharge ports 17 of the count required by the rinsing containers. The nozzles 12 are inserted to bottom parts of the rinsing containers through insertion holes. On the other hand, plugs 25 are fitted at connection parts 21 where the discharge ports 17 without the nozzles 12 are opened, thereby to shut the discharge ports 17. A chemical solution container can be set at a part without the nozzles 12 in front of the water feed manifold 15.

When a sample is stained by using the automatic staining apparatus as described above, first, a staining basket containing one or a plurality of slide glasses to which a sample to be stained is attached is attached to the suspension arm 5. Combine. As is well known, each slide glass is oriented vertically in a state of being stored in the dyeing basket. After the dyeing basket has been engaged with the suspension arm 5, the three-dimensional drive device is then driven. Then, the moving beam 3 and the moving column 4 and the suspension arm 5 constituting the three-dimensional driving device move based on a signal from a controller (not shown), and move the dyeing basket in a predetermined order for a predetermined time. Liquid storage containers 2, 2
Immerse in the chemical solution or washing water inside. The sample is stained by repeating such operations a predetermined number of times. In the example shown in FIG. 8, a chemical solution for replacement is stored in the cabinet 1 in order to automatically replace a frequently used chemical solution among the chemical solutions stored in the liquid storage containers 2 and 2. The structure which accommodated the tanks 6 and 6 shown in FIG. However, such tanks 6, 6 are not always necessary. In the case of such an automatic staining apparatus for microscope specimens that does not require the cabinet 1 for housing the tanks 6, 6, the following Japanese Patent Publication No.

[0005] Furthermore, a multiple staining process, in which a plurality of stained baskets are processed in parallel using the above-described automatic staining apparatus for microscope specimens to stain more samples efficiently, is also disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. As described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 100522,
Conventionally known. That is, the dyeing basket containing the slide glass to which the sample is attached is immersed in the chemical solution for a predetermined time. During this immersion, the hanging arm 5 disengages from the dyeing basket, and another dyeing is performed. The other dyeing basket is put into a predetermined storage container 2 by engaging with the basket. Then, similarly, the engagement with the suspension arm 5 is released, and the other dyeing basket is immersed in the chemical solution for a predetermined time. These operations are performed in parallel on a plurality of dyeing baskets, and if there is a dyeing basket which has been immersed for a predetermined time, the hanging arm 5 engages with the dyeing basket, and is transferred to the next liquid storage container 2. Carry. By repeating such operations, a plurality of stained baskets can be processed in parallel, so that more samples can be stained in a shorter time than in the normal processing described above. Such multiple staining processing can be performed by storing the processing procedure in the controller in advance.

In the case of the conventionally known automatic staining apparatus for microscope specimens constructed and operated as described above, a washing container for storing washing water among the storage containers 2 and 2 is used. The number of storage containers 2 and 2 used was fixed. That is, it is necessary to dispose a nozzle for ejecting the washing water at the bottom of the liquid storage containers 2 and 2 used as the washing container. In the case of the conventional structure, this nozzle is a fixed type.
For this reason, only the liquid storage containers 2 and 2 functioning as a washing container can be installed in the portion where the nozzle is provided, and the liquid storage containers 2 and 2 functioning as the washing container are installed in portions other than the portion where the nozzle is provided. could not.

As described above, since the number of the storage containers 2 and 2 used as the washing containers is fixed, even if the required number of washing containers changes due to a change in the dyeing method to be performed or the like.
I could not respond to this. That is, when the number of required washing containers changes due to a change in the dyeing method to be performed or the like, the number of the storage containers 2 and 2 used as the washing containers is changed, and the storage containers used as the chemical solution containers instead. 2,
It is preferable to change the number of 2 in order to carry out a smooth staining treatment by effectively using the liquid storage containers 2 and 2. However, in the case of the conventional structure, such a demand could not be met. The automatic staining apparatus for microscope specimens of the present invention has been invented in view of such circumstances.

By changing the staining method performed by the automatic staining apparatus for microscope specimens configured and operating as described above, or by changing the number of staining methods performed simultaneously.
When the number of required washing containers 10 changes, the discharge ports 17, 17 provided on the front of the water supply manifold 15 are provided.
The number of the washing containers 10 can be changed arbitrarily within the range of the number (the number is within five in the illustrated example, but the number can be increased). That is, when the washing container 10 is provided, as described above, the base end of the nozzle 12 is attached to the required number of discharge ports 17 of the washing container 10 by the cap nut 16. Then, the nozzle 12 is inserted into the bottom of the washing container 10 through the insertion hole 13. On the other hand, plugs 25, 25 are attached to the connection portions 21, 21 where the discharge ports 17 to which the nozzles 12 are not mounted are opened, and the discharge ports 17 are closed. Therefore, the chemical solution containers 11 and 11 can be installed in a portion where the nozzle 12 is not mounted on the front side of the water supply manifold 15.

In any of the above structures, the upper plate 9
Alternatively, the passage 43 provided in the intermediate plate may be formed at the end of the upper plate 9 and the intermediate plate, not at the center in the left-right direction. In particular, if the passage 43 is provided above the washing container 10 placed on the upper surface of the lower plate 8, when the hanging arm 38 suspending the dyeing basket 29 moves vertically through the passage 43, Even if the chemical solution attached to the dyeing basket 29 and the slide glass housed in the dyeing basket 29 drips, the dripped chemical solution only enters the lower washing container 10 but enters the other chemical solution containers 11. Without deteriorating other chemicals. Since the washing water in the washing container 10 is constantly replaced by the ejection of the new washing water from the nozzle 12, dripping of a small amount of the chemical solution hardly causes a problem. Note that an empty container may be provided below the passage 43 to receive the dripped chemical.
