If there is a spliced portion 6 which is a connected portion, the spliced portion 6 becomes thicker than the steady portion, and a step 6a occurs in the spliced portion 6, so that the spliced portion 6 is coated at the coating position A, That is, when the coating liquid 4 passes through the falling position of the coating liquid 4 at high speed, the curtain film by the coating liquid 4 is cut off by the collision with the step 6a of the paper splicing portion 6 and is repelled backward. There is a problem that a thick coating portion is formed, the drying becomes difficult, and the roll surface on the downstream side is soiled.

A coating method characterized by detecting the paper spliced portion on the upstream side of the coating position and interrupting the coating while the paper spliced portion passes the coating position by the detection signal, Further, the coating liquid is caused to flow down in a curtain form from the liquid supply head to be applied to the surface of the running base paper, and the supply and stop of the coating liquid to the base paper surface are performed between the liquid supply head and the base paper. In the coating apparatus, which is performed by moving the shutter pan or moving the liquid supply head, a paper spliced portion detection is performed to detect a paper spliced portion at a position upstream of a coating position at which the coating liquid flows down to the base paper surface. A sensor is installed, and the paper joint detecting sensor is provided. A computing unit for calculating a time from the position where the spliced portion is detected by the detection signal from the position to reach the coating position, and further, the spliced portion determines the coating position based on the time calculated by the computing device. During the passage, the shutter pan or the liquid supply head is moved to interrupt the coating.

Since the coating is interrupted while the spliced portion passes through the coating position, the coating liquid is not applied to the spliced portion. This prevents the curtain film of the coating liquid from being cut at the step of the paper spliced portion and being repelled backward, thereby preventing local thick coating from occurring.

The shutter pan 5 is moved in the front-back direction to
N, OFF operation is performed, and further, a coater roll 7 and guide rolls 8 and 9 are arranged upstream of the coater roll 1 so that the base paper 2 can be guided to the coating position A. The air chamber 10 is located downstream of the position A.
Is installed, and the tension is applied to the coated paper in a non-contact manner by the air blown out from the air chamber 10.
A paper splicing part detection sensor 11 is installed, and the rear end of the preceding base paper 2 and the leading end of the succeeding raw paper 2 are overlapped and bonded with an adhesive to form a color on the inner side of the paper splicing part 6. The attached tape 12 is attached, and the paper spliced portion detection sensor 11 detects from the start to the end of the passage of the colored tape 12.

The time t required from the detection of the joint portion 6 by the detection sensor 11 to the arrival at the coating position A is represented by t = S
/ V, and a controller is provided in accordance with the arrival time t to the coating position A corresponding to the width from the start to the end of the spliced portion 6 determined by the arithmetic unit 15. An operation command is sent from 14 to the driving device 13, and the shutter pan 5 is automatically moved to perform the OFF operation and the ON operation.

The time from when the spliced portion 6 is detected to when the spliced portion 6 reaches the coating position A is determined, and a command is issued to the controller 14, and the driving device 13 is further adjusted from the controller 14 so that the spliced portion 6 is coated. While passing through the position A, the shutter pan 5 is moved forward, and the coating operation can be interrupted by an OFF operation that blocks the flowing position of the coating liquid 4. This prevents the curtain film of the coating liquid 4 from being cut off by the collision between the step 6a of the paper splicing section 6 and the coating liquid 4 when the paper joining section 6 passes the coating position A, thereby preventing the coating film 4 from being repelled backward. That is, the formation of a thick coating portion is avoided.

Instead of the stop, the liquid supply head 3 is moved back and forth to turn on and off the coating. The liquid supply head 3 is moved rearward to receive the coating liquid 4 by the color pan 16 so as to interrupt the flow down to the surface of the base paper 2. The other configuration is the same as that shown in FIG. 1, and by detecting the colored tape 12 with the paper splicing part detection sensor 11, the paper splicing part 6 moves to the coating position A after passing the detection sensor 11 position. An arithmetic unit 15 for calculating the time required to reach the position is provided, and an operation command is issued from the arithmetic unit 15 to a driving device 17 for moving the liquid supply head 3 via a controller 18.

In, the coating is interrupted while the paper splicing portion passes the coating position, and the coating interruption is performed based on the detection signal from the paper splicing portion detection sensor installed on the upstream side of the coating position. The time required for the spliced part to reach the coating position is obtained by a computing unit, and the movement is performed by moving the shutter pan or the liquid supply head in accordance with this time. The paper spliced part having a step does not cut the curtain film of the coating liquid and flips backward, avoids the thick coating part, and eliminates the problem that it becomes difficult to dry. Insufficient drying rolls It is possible to eliminate a problem that soil the roll adhere to the roll when excessive, an excellent effect like.

A method of causing a coating liquid to flow down in a curtain form from a liquid supply head so as to be applied to the surface of a running base paper, and the supply and stop of the coating liquid to the surface of the base paper are performed by the liquid supply head and the base paper. In the coating apparatus, which is performed by moving the shutter pan or moving the liquid supply head between the paper sheet and the paper for detecting the paper splicing portion, at a position upstream of the coating position at which the coating liquid flows down to the base paper surface. A splicing part detection sensor is provided, and a computing unit is provided for calculating a time from a position where the splicing part is detected to a coating position based on a detection signal from the paper splicing part detection sensor. A coating device that moves the shutter pan or the liquid supply head to interrupt the coating while the paper splicing section passes the coating position based on the time calculated by the container.
