Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 多様な形態でファクシミリデータに発信元情
報を付加することができるファクシミリサーバ装置を提
供すること。 【解決手段】 ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａは、ユーザ
構内通信網（ＬＡＮ）７Ａで複数のクライアントＰＣ等
のデータ処理装置と接続されている。ファクシミリサー
バ装置２Ａは、ＣＰＵ２１、キーボードやマウス等の操
作部２６、表示部３４、内部バス３７を用いて宛先、発
信、日時、頁等の発信元情報（ＴＴＩ）を設定し、ＲＡ
Ｍ２３に記憶させる。ファクシミリデータに付加される
ＴＴＩは、クライアントＰＣの指示により、ファクシミ
リサーバ装置に登録されているものを優先する構成、ま
たは、各データ処理装置から受信したものを優先する構
成とする。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、ＬＡＮ（Ｌｏｃａ
ｌ Ａｒｅａ Ｎｅｔｗｏｒｋ）等を介して複数のデー
タ処理装置に接続されるファクシミリサーバ装置に関す
るものである。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】最近の通信技術やコンピュータ技術の進
展に伴い、種々の形態の通信ネットワークが提案されて
いる。その一例として、ユーザ構内通信網（ＬＡＮ）に
複数のクライアントとサーバを接続してなるクライアン
ト／サーバシステムを、公衆電話網（ＰＳＴＮ；Ｐｕｂ
ｌｉｃ Ｓｕｂｓｃｒｉｂｅｒ ＴｅｌｅｐｈｏｎｅＮ
ｅｔｗｏｒｋ）やサービス総合デジタル網（ＩＳＤＮ；
ＩｎｔｅｇｒａｔｅＳｅｒｖｉｃｅ Ｄｉｇｉｔａｌ
ｎｅｔｗｏｒｋ）で結合して情報の伝送を行う通信ネッ
トワークが知られている。このようなクライアント／サ
ーバシステムのクライアントにパーソナルコンピュータ
（ＰＣ）等のデータ処理装置、サーバにファクシミリサ
ーバ装置を用いて、クライアントのデータ処理装置から
ファクシミリサーバ装置を介してファクシミリ送信を行
うクライアント／サーバシステムも知られている。
【０００３】上述のようなクライアント／サーバシステ
ムでは、ファクシミリデータは各データ処理装置で作成
され、ファクシミリサーバ装置へ送られる。ファクシミ
リサーバ装置は、各データ処理装置からの指令に基づい
て、ファクシミリデータをＰＳＴＮやＩＳＤＮを介して
相手先のファクシミリ装置やファクシミリサーバ装置へ
送信する。また、ＰＳＴＮやＩＳＤＮを介して、相手先
のファクシミリ装置やファクシミリサーバ装置からファ
クシミリデータを受信したことを、データ処理装置へ通
知する。
【０００４】ファクシミリデータは、文字や図形を含む
イメージデータとして形成されているので、データ量が
多くなり、大量のファクシミリデータを記憶するには記
憶容量の大きな記憶装置が必要となる。そのため、ファ
クシミリサーバ装置はハードディスク等の大容量記憶装
置を備えている。
【０００５】ところで、ファクシミリデータに相手先名
称、発信元名称、送信時刻、頁数等の発信元情報（ＴＴ
Ｉ；Ｔｒａｎｓｍｉｔｔａｌ Ｔｅｒｍｉｎａｌ Ｉｄ
ｅｎｔｉｆｉｅｒ）を付加すると、ファクシミリ通信さ
れるデータの保存、確認が容易となりデータを管理する
上で有益である。このため、従来の単体で用いるファク
シミリ装置には、ＴＴＩをファクシミリデータに付加し
て相手先に送信していた。従来の単体のファクシミリ装
置は、ファクシミリ通信時には相手先のファクシミリ装
置と１対１の関係でＰＳＴＮ等の通信回線に接続されて
いる。したがって、ファクシミリデータの送信時には相
手先が特定されるので、前記のようなＴＴＩのファクシ
ミリデータへの付加は、比較的簡単に行える。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】これに対して、ファク
シミリサーバ装置からファクシミリ通信する場合には、
次のような問題が生じる。ファクシミリサーバ装置を
「発信元」と考えることもできるが、ファクシミリサー
バ装置は複数のデータ処理装置のファクシミリデータを
送信するので、データ処理装置を「発信元」とみなすこ
とも可能である。これらのうち、いずれを「発信元」と
するかを一義的に固定することは、データ処理装置の利
用者やＬＡＮの管理者にとっても好ましくないという問
題があった。
【０００７】本発明は上記のような問題に鑑み、ファク
シミリサーバ装置を用いたファクシミリ送信を行う際
に、多様な形態でファクシミリデータにＴＴＩを付加す
ることができるファクシミリサーバ装置の提供を目的と
する。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の上記目的は、請
求項１に係る発明においてファクシミリサーバ装置を、
複数のデータ処理装置に接続され、データ処理装置の指
示によりファクシミリデータに発信元情報を付加するフ
ァクシミリサーバ装置であって、発信元情報が登録され
ている場合には当該発信元情報を付加し、前記発信元情
報が登録されていない場合には、データ処理装置からの
送信指示情報に基づいて発信元情報をファクシミリデー
タに付加する構成とすることによって達成される。
【０００９】また請求項２に係る発明においては、ファ
クシミリサーバ装置を、複数のデータ処理装置に接続さ
れ、データ処理装置の指示によりファクシミリデータに
発信元情報を付加するファクシミリサーバ装置であっ
て、データ処理装置からの発信元情報を受信した場合に
は当該発信元情報を付加し、前記発信元情報を受信しな
い場合には、登録されている発信元情報を付加する構成
としている。
【００１０】さらに請求項３に係る発明においては、請
求項１または請求項２に係る発明の前記発信元情報に
は、発呼情報を含む構成としている。
【００１１】上記請求項１に係る発明の特徴によれば、
ファクシミリデータに発信元情報を付加する際に、ファ
クシミリサーバ装置に登録されている発信元情報を優先
して付加する形態が採用できる。
【００１２】また、請求項２に係る発明においては、フ
ァクシミリデータに発信元情報を付加する際に、各デー
タ処理装置から受信した発信元情報を優先して付加する
形態が採用できる。
【００１３】さらに、請求項３に係る発明においては、
発信元情報にファクシミリデータの実際の送信時刻を含
ませているので、ファクシミリ通信されるデータ管理を
正確に行える。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明に係るファクシミリ
サーバ装置の実施の形態について図により説明する。図
５は、本発明のファクシミリサーバ装置が使用されるシ
ステムの一形態を示す概略のブロック図である。図５に
おいて、１Ａ、１Ｂは、ユーザ構内通信網（ＬＡＮ）７
Ａ、７Ｂに複数のクライアントとサーバを接続したクラ
イアント／サーバシステムである。クライアント／サー
バシステム１Ａにおいて、ＬＡＮ７Ａには、本発明のフ
ァクシミリサーバ装置（図ではファクシミリをＦＡＸと
表示している）２Ａ、クライアントＰＣ３Ａ、４Ａ、５
Ａ、プリンタサーバ６Ａが接続される。
【００１５】また、クライアント／サーバシステム１Ｂ
において、ＬＡＮ７Ｂには、ファクシミリサーバ装置２
Ｂ、クライアントＰＣ３Ｂ、４Ｂ、５Ｂ、プリンタサー
バ６Ｂが接続される。これらのクライアント／サーバシ
ステム１Ａ、１Ｂは、例えば工場、事務所、店舗等に設
置される。
【００１６】ファクシミリ装置９は従来の単体で使用さ
れる形式のものである。これらのクライアント／サーバ
システム１Ａ、１Ｂ、及びファクシミリ装置９は、公衆
電話網（ＰＳＴＮ）、またはサービス総合デジタル網
（ＩＳＤＮ）８により接続される。図５のシステムで
は、ＰＳＴＮまたはＩＳＤＮ８で接続されたファクシミ
リサーバ装置２Ａ、２Ｂ、ファクシミリ装置９は、通信
ネットワーク上で相互にファクシミリ通信を行う。
【００１７】図１は、図５のファクシミリサーバ装置２
Ａの構成の一例を示す概略のブロック図である。図１に
おいて、２１は各種信号やデータを処理するための中央
処理装置（以下、ＣＰＵと略記する）、２２はファクシ
ミリサーバ装置２Ａの各種動作に必要なデータやプログ
ラムが格納されるＲＯＭ、２３は管理データ等が格納さ
れるＲＡＭである。
【００１８】２４は受信したファクシミリデータを記録
紙に出力するプリンタ、２５は原稿を読み取り、白黒２
値のイメージデータであるファクシミリデータを出力す
る読取部、２６はキーボードやマウス等からなる操作部
である。ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａは、ネットワーク
インターフェイス（Ｉ／Ｆ）２７によりＬＡＮ７Ａに接
続される。
【００１９】また、ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａは、サ
ービス総合デジタル網（ＩＳＤＮ）のインターフェイス
（Ｉ／Ｆ）２８、デジタル回線終端装置（ＤＳＵ）２９
を介してＩＳＤＮに接続される。また、回線制御部（Ｎ
ＣＵ）３０を介してＰＳＴＮに接続される。３１はＰＳ
ＴＮを介して相手先のファクシミリ装置との間で送受信
されるファクシミリデータを変調．復調するモデムであ
り、モデム３１とＮＣＵ３０とはアナログ信号線３１ａ
で接続される。
【００２０】符号・復号部３２は、送信するファクシミ
リデータを符号化し、受信したファクシミリデータを復
号化する。図形文字発生部３３は、文字コード情報をイ
メージデータに変換する。３４は陰極線管（ＣＲＴ）や
液晶表示器（ＬＣＤ）を用いた表示部、３５はファクシ
ミリデータに日時を記入するために用いる時計部、３６
はファクシミリデータを記憶するハードディスク（Ｈ
Ｄ）、３７は内部バスである。
【００２１】本発明のファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａは、
クライアントＰＣ３Ｂ、４Ｂ、５Ｂから指示されたファ
クシミリデータを、ＰＳＴＮまたはＩＳＤＮ８を介して
相手先に送信する際に、ＴＴＩを付加する。そして、フ
ァクシミリデータに付加されるＴＴＩは、ファクシミリ
サーバ装置２Ａに登録されているものを優先する構成、
または、各クライアントから受信したものを優先する構
成としている。
【００２２】図２は、ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａに登
録されるＴＴＩの一例を示す表示画面の説明図である。
図２の例では、ＴＴＩとして（ａ）宛先、（ｂ）発信、
（ｃ）日時、（ｄ）頁を設定している。
【００２３】（ａ）宛先の項目では、「なし（未登
録）」、「固定文字列」、「宛先名称」、「宛先ＦＡＸ
ＮＯ」をカーソルやマウスにより選択する。（ｂ）発
信の項目では、「なし（未登録）」、「固定文字列」、
「送信元ユーザ名称」、「送信元ＦＡＸ ＮＯ」を選択
する。（ｃ）日時の項目では、「なし（未登録）」、
「指示日時」、「発呼日時」、「指示日時、発呼日時」
を選択する。ＴＴＩの項目として、相手先に実際にファ
クシミリデータを送信した時刻（発呼時刻）を設けてお
くことにより、ファクシミリデータの管理を正確に行え
る。
【００２４】図２に示したようなＴＴＩの各項目は、Ｃ
ＰＵ２１に内部バス３７で接続されているキーボードや
マウスのような操作部２６、ＣＲＴ等の表示部３４によ
り設定され、ＲＡＭ２３に記憶される。
【００２５】ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａに登録された
ＴＴＩを優先する場合について説明する。ファクシミリ
サーバ装置２Ａは、クライアントＰＣ３Ｂ、４Ｂ、５Ｂ
からファクシミリデータの送信を指示された時に、少な
くともファクシミリデータ及び送信相手先に関する情報
を受信する。ファクシミリサーバ装置２ＡにＴＴＩが登
録されていれば、登録されたＴＴＩに基づいてファクシ
ミリデータにＴＴＩを付加して、指示された送信相手先
へ送信する。しかしながら、ファクシミリサーバ装置２
ＡにＴＴＩが登録されていなければ、受信した送信相手
先に関する情報に基づいてファクシミリデータにＴＴＩ
を付加して、指示された送信相手先へ送信する。
【００２６】また、各クライアントから受信したＴＴＩ
を優先する場合について説明する。ファクシミリサーバ
装置２Ａは、クライアントＰＣ３Ｂ、４Ｂ、５Ｂからフ
ァクシミリデータの送信を指示された時にファクシミリ
データ及び送信相手先に関する情報に加えＴＴＩに関す
る情報を受信すれば、受信したＴＴＩに関する情報に基
づいて、ファクシミリデータにＴＴＩを付加して、指示
された送信相手先へ送信する。しかしながら、ＴＴＩに
関する情報を受信しなければ、ファクシミリサーバ装置
２Ａに登録されたＴＴＩに基づいてファクシミリデータ
にＴＴＩを付加して、指示された送信相手先へ送信す
る。この場合、ファクシミリサーバ装置２ＡにＴＴＩが
予め登録されていなければ、クライアントからＴＴＩに
関する情報を受信しなかった時にＴＴＩを付加すること
はできない。
【００２７】ファクシミリサーバ装置２Ａが上述のいず
れの構成をとるかは、操作部２６の所定の操作により、
選択される。
【００２８】図３は、ファクシミリサーバ装置におい
て、ファクシミリデータにＴＴＩを付加する処理手順の
一例を示すフローチャートである。この処理は、ファク
シミリサーバ装置に登録されているＴＴＩを優先して付
加する例である。次にこのフローチャートについて説明
する。
【００２９】（１）ステップＳ１で処理プログラムをス
タートし、ステップＳ２でファクシミリサーバ装置はク
ライアントＰＣからのファクシミリデータの送信指示を
受信する。続いて、ステップＳ３でＴＴＩの内容がファ
クシミリサーバ装置に登録されているかどうかを判定す
る。このときの判定結果がＮＯであればステップＳ４の
処理に進む。ステップＳ４では、クライアントＰＣから
の送信指示情報に基づいてＴＴＩをファクシミリデータ
に付加し、次にステップＳ６の処理に進む。
【００３０】（２）ステップＳ３の判定結果がＹＥＳで
あれば、続いてステップＳ５の処理で登録されているＴ
ＴＩをファクシミリデータに付加する。次にステップＳ
６の処理により、ＴＴＩを付加したファクシミリデータ
を発呼送信し、ステップＳ７により処理プログラムを終
了する。
【００３１】図４は、ファクシミリサーバ装置におい
て、ファクシミリデータにＴＴＩを付加する処理手順の
他の例を示すフローチャートである。この処理は、クラ
イアントＰＣからＴＴＩを受信する場合には、これを優
先して付加する例である。次にこのフローチャートにつ
いて説明する。
【００３２】（１）ステップＳ１１で処理プログラムを
スタートし、ステップＳ１２でファクシミリサーバ装置
はクライアントＰＣからファクシミリデータの送信指示
を受信する。続いて、ステップＳ１３でクライアントＰ
Ｃからの送信指示にＴＴＩが指定されているかどうかを
判定する。このときの判定結果がＮＯであればステップ
Ｓ１４の処理に進む。ステップＳ１４では、ファクシミ
リサーバ装置に登録されているＴＴＩをファクシミリデ
ータに付加し、次にステップＳ１６の処理に進む。
【００３３】（２）ステップＳ１３の判定結果がＹＥＳ
であれば、続いてステップＳ１５の処理において指定さ

【発明の効果】以上詳述したように請求項１に係る発明
によれば、ファクシミリデータに発信元情報を付加する
際に、ファクシミリサーバ装置に登録されている発信元
情報を優先して付加する形態が採用できる。
【００３５】また、請求項２に係る発明においては、フ
ァクシミリデータに発信元情報を付加する際に、データ
処理装置から受信した発信元情報を優先して付加する形
態が採用できる。
【００３６】さらに、請求項３に係る発明においては、
発信元情報にファクシミリデータの実際の送信時刻を含
ませているので、ファクシミリ通信されるデータ管理を
正確に行える。

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 複数のデータ処理装置に接続され、デー
    タ処理装置の指示によりファクシミリデータに発信元情
    報を付加するファクシミリサーバ装置であって、発信元
    情報が登録されている場合には当該発信元情報を付加
    し、前記発信元情報が登録されていない場合には、デー
    タ処理装置からの送信指示情報に基づく発信元情報を付
    加してなるファクシミリサーバ装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 複数のデータ処理装置に接続され、デー
    タ処理装置の指示によりファクシミリデータに発信元情
    報を付加するファクシミリサーバ装置であって、データ
    処理装置からの発信元情報を受信した場合には当該発信
    元情報を付加し、前記発信元情報を受信しない場合に
    は、登録されている発信元情報を付加してなるファクシ
    ミリサーバ装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記発信元情報には、発呼情報を含むこ
    とを特徴とする請求項１または請求項２に記載のファク
    シミリサーバ装置。
