Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the silver halide photographic sensitive material capable of enhancing graininess and stabilizing resolution reproduction. SOLUTION: The flat silver halide grains contained in an emulsion layer in the silver halide photographic sensitive material comprises (1) having an average distance between twin crystal faces, (2) their principal faces are circular and hexangular, (3) average dislocation line lengths are >=30 nm and <30 nm, (4) the dislocation lines are located mainly on the principal faces and only on the fringe parts, (5) comprising the ones having an aspect ratio of >=8 and >=30 dislocation lines per each grain and those having an aspect ratio of 5-8 and dislocation lines of the same number per each grain, (6) having dislocation lines introduced and an average corresponding sphere diameter of >=0.6 μm, and 0.45 to 0.6 μm, and (7) the ones having a variation coefficient of dislocation lines length of <25% and the others having >=25%.
