【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、番組の映像・音声
情報と多重化して電子番組表（ＥＰＧ）のための番組情
報を放送するセンター装置と、これを受信して画面に電
子番組表を表示する端末装置に関し、特に、端末装置で
個性的な電子番組表を表示できるようにするものであ
る。

【従来の技術】デジタル放送では、アナログ放送に比べ
てチャンネル数が飛躍的に増大し、放送される番組の数
が非常に多くなる。そこで、デジタル放送では、番組選
択を容易にするため、センターから、番組の映像・音声
情報と多重化してＥＰＧの番組情報が放送される。利用
者は、端末装置の表示画面にＥＰＧを映し、このＥＰＧ
上で直接、見たい番組を選択したり、番組の予約録画を
指定したりすることができる。
【０００３】この番組情報には、チャンネル番号、チャ
ンネル名、番組名、番組のジャンルを示すジャンル情
報、放送スケジュール、あらすじ、出演者などの情報が
含まれる。センターからこの番組情報のデータを受信し
た端末装置では、内蔵するＥＰＧソフトによって、時間
軸とチャンネル軸とを持った番組表として画面上に表示
する。
【０００４】この電子番組表の表示の仕方については、
種々の工夫が為されている。特開平８−１４０００３に
は、画面上に番組のジャンルをメニュー表示し、そのジ
ャンルを選べば関連番組のガイドが表示される表示方法
が開示されている。また、特開昭６１−２２７４８６に
は、現在の時刻を見て、現在の時刻より後の番組表のみ
を表示する技術が開示されている。また、特開平９−３
７１６７には、端末装置の画面のアスペクト比を設定す
ると、設定されたアスペクト比に応じて、ガイド画像の
表示配列を変更する方法が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、従来の放送シ
ステムでは、センター装置から放送された番組情報を端
末装置が受信し、この端末装置に予めプログラムとして
組み込まれている番組表作成用プログラムが、受信した
番組情報から必要な部分を抜き出して番組表を作成して
いるため、画面上には、プログラムで決められた一種類
の表示形式でしか番組表が表示されない。
【０００６】そのため、利用者は、この番組表の中か
ら、知りたい情報を一目で見つけることが難しく、一
方、センター側では、視聴者に番組の特徴を番組表の表
示形式によって印象付けることができない。
【０００７】また、従来の端末装置では、番組の映像を
見ながら番組表を表示させることができず、番組表を画
面に表示している間は、番組の映像が中断されると言う
不便がある。
【０００８】また、番組表は画面上で見るしか方法が無
く、番組表を記録して残すことができないという不便が
ある。
【０００９】本発明は、こうした従来の問題点を解決す
るものであり、バラエティに富んだ個性的な電子番組表
の表示を可能にする放送システムのセンター装置を提供
し、また、この個性的な電子番組表を画面上に表示した
り、印刷物などで残すことができる端末装置を提供する
ことを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】そこで、本発明では、セ
ンター装置に、時刻管理手段と、番組表を構成するため
のテンプレートを管理するテンプレート管理手段と、テ
ンプレートを送信するテンプレート伝送手段と、テンプ
レートの送信日時を管理し、この送信日時と時刻管理手
段で管理されている日時とが一致したとき、テンプレー
ト伝送手段にテンプレートの送信を促すテンプレート送
信制御手段とを設けている。
【００１１】また、端末装置には、番組表を構成するテ
ンプレートとテンプレートを利用する条件とを対にして
管理する番組表テンプレート管理手段と、番組情報を管
理する番組情報管理手段と、利用する条件にマッチする
テンプレートを番組表テンプレート管理手段から選択す
るテンプレート選択手段と、テンプレート選択手段で選
択されたテンプレートを用いて番組情報管理手段から必
要な番組情報を取得し、番組表を作成する番組表作成手
段とを設けている。

い、番組やチャンネルなどの特色を出した見やすい番組
表を表示することが可能となる。

【発明の実施の形態】本発明の請求項１に記載の発明
は、日時を管理する時刻管理手段と、番組表を構成する
ためのテンプレートを管理するテンプレート管理手段
と、テンプレートを送信するテンプレート伝送手段と、
テンプレートの送信日時を管理し、この送信日時と時刻
管理手段で管理されている日時とが一致したとき、テン
プレート伝送手段にテンプレートの送信を促すテンプレ
ート送信制御手段とを設けたものであり、センターから
端末装置にテンプレートを送ることにより、番組構成や
ネットワーク構成に応じて、自由な番組表を端末で表示
することが可能となる。特に時刻管理手段が管理する時
刻とテンプレートとを連係させることにより、午前７時
と午後７時とを区別できるテンプレートを作成したり、
季節に応じてテンプレートを変更することなどが可能と
なる。
【００１４】請求項２に記載の発明は、テンプレート
を、このテンプレートを利用する条件が記述されたテン
プレート識別子とともに送信するようにしたものであ
り、端末装置側では、どのテンプレートをどのように使
えばよいかが分かる。
【００１５】請求項３に記載の発明は、テンプレートと
テンプレート識別子とを１対１に組み合わせて送信する
ようにしたものであり、テンプレートに付随しているテ
ンプレート識別子に使用条件が記載されているため、予
め各端末装置にどのテンプレートを使用すればよいかを
記憶させる必要がない。
【００１６】請求項４に記載の発明は、テンプレートと
テンプレート識別子とが多対１または１対多に組み合わ
されて送信するようにしたものであり、テンプレート識
別子のデータを各テンプレート毎に繰り返して送る必要
が無くなり、伝送効率を高めることができる。
【００１７】請求項５に記載の発明は、テンプレートを
利用する条件を、チャンネル情報で規定したものであ
り、チャンネル毎に異なる番組表の表示が可能となる。
【００１８】請求項６に記載の発明は、テンプレートを
利用する条件を、番組のコンテンツ情報で規定したもの
であり、各番組のコンテンツ毎に異なる番組表の表示が
可能となる。コンテンツ情報とは、番組のジャンル情報
（例えば、映画や、スポーツ、天気予報、ニュースなど
の番組の内容に関する情報）、番組の構成要素（例えば
番組にＣＭが含まれていない番組、ＣＭが含まれている
番組、次回の予告がある番組、予告がない番組）、ある
いは番組のコンポーネント（例えば、音楽番組（音声の
みの番組）、二カ国語放送、データ放送）の情報を指
す。
【００１９】請求項７に記載の発明は、テンプレートを
利用する条件を、時刻情報で規定したものであり、時間
帯毎に異なる番組表の表示が可能となる。例えば、午前
中のテンプレートには時刻の前に太陽のマークを入れ、
夕方のテンプレートには時刻の前に月のマークを入れる
ことにより時刻が“７”と表現されていても、視聴者は
午前か午後かを容易に理解できる。

利用する条件を、視聴者情報で規定したものであり、視
聴している視聴者毎に異なる番組表の表示が可能とな
る。視聴者情報とは視聴者の趣味・嗜好の情報、視聴者
の年齢の情報、視聴者の性別の情報、視聴者の契約情
報、視聴場所情報などである。

利用する条件を、端末情報で規定したものであり、例え
ば、ハイビジョン放送が受信できない端末装置で番組表
を表示する場合に、ハイビジョン番組の番組表が表示さ
れないようにすることが可能となる。また、端末に例え
ば１５inchのモニタが接続している場合には、番組表に
表示する文字数を減らして、文字が潰れて読めなくなる
のを避けることができる。また、例えば２画面に分割可
能なモニタが接続されている場合には、左側に番組を表
示しながら右側に番組表を表示することが可能となる。

するテンプレートとテンプレートを利用する条件とを対
にして管理する番組表テンプレート管理手段と、番組情
報を管理する番組情報管理手段と、利用する条件にマッ
チするテンプレートを番組表テンプレート管理手段から
選択するテンプレート選択手段と、テンプレート選択手
段で選択されたテンプレートを用いて番組情報管理手段
から必要な番組情報を取得し、番組表を作成する番組表
作成手段とを設けたものであり、個性のある番組表の表
示が可能となる。

ンネル情報を管理するチャンネル情報管理手段を設け、
番組表テンプレート管理手段が、テンプレートをチャン
ネル情報と対にして管理し、テンプレート選択手段が、
チャンネル情報管理手段で管理されているチャンネル情
報にマッチするチャンネル情報と対になったテンプレー
トを番組表テンプレート管理手段から選択するようにし
たものであり、チャンネル毎に異なる番組表の表示が可
能となる。

される番組のコンテンツ情報を管理するコンテンツ情報
管理手段を設け、番組表テンプレート管理手段が、テン
プレートを番組のコンテンツ情報と対にして管理し、テ
ンプレート選択手段が、コンテンツ情報管理手段で管理
されているコンテンツ情報にマッチするコンテンツ情報
と対になったテンプレートを番組表テンプレート管理手
段から選択するようにしたものであり、各番組のコンテ
ンツ毎に異なる番組表を表示することが可能となる。

る時刻管理手段を設け、番組表テンプレート管理手段
が、テンプレートを時間情報と対にして管理し、テンプ
レート選択手段が、時刻管理手段で管理されている時刻
にマッチする時間情報と対になったテンプレートを番組
表テンプレート管理手段から選択するようにしたもので
あり、時間帯毎に異なる番組表を表示することが可能と
なる。

管理する視聴者情報管理手段を設け、番組表テンプレー
ト管理手段が、テンプレートを視聴者情報と対にして管
理し、テンプレート選択手段が、視聴者情報管理手段で
管理されている視聴者情報にマッチする視聴者情報と対
になったテンプレートを番組表テンプレート管理手段か
ら選択するようにしたものであり、視聴している視聴者
毎に異なる番組表を表示することが可能となる。
【００２７】請求項１５に記載の発明は、端末情報を管
理する端末情報管理手段を設け、番組表テンプレート管
理手段が、テンプレートを端末情報と対にして管理し、
テンプレート選択手段が、端末情報管理手段で管理され
ている端末情報にマッチする端末情報と対になったテン
プレートを番組表テンプレート管理手段から選択するよ
うにしたものであり、端末装置に応じた見やすい番組表
を表示することが可能となる。
【００２８】請求項１６に記載の発明は、番組表作成手
段で作成された番組表を外部装置に出力する番組表出力
手段を設けたものであり、外部の印刷装置や表示装置、
記録装置を使用して、番組表を印刷、表示、記録するこ
とが可能となる。

段で作成された番組表を表示する番組表表示手段を設け
たものであり、端末のみで番組表を見ることが可能とな
る。請求項１８に記載の発明は、番組表作成手段で作成
された番組表を印刷する番組表印刷手段を設けたもので
あり、番組表を印刷して見ることが可能となる。
【００３０】以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面
を用いて説明する。
【００３１】（第１の実施形態）第１の実施形態では、
センター装置から送信される、番組表のテンプレート
と、そのテンプレートの使い方などを指定するテンプレ
ート識別子とについて説明する。
【００３２】センター装置は、番組表のテンプレートを
作成して、このテンプレートと、そのテンプレートの使
用条件などを指定するテンプレート識別子とを端末装置
に送信する。
【００３３】このテンプレートは、ＨＴＭＬ、ＳＧＭ
Ｌ、ＭＨＥＧなどの言語を用いて画面上に表示されるテ
キスト、静止画、画像を指し、また、これらの言語で指
定された表示方法により表現されたものを指す。
【００３４】例えば、このテンプレートによって、午前
中の電子番組表の時刻情報の前に太陽のマークが表示さ
れ、夕方の電子番組表の時刻情報の前に月のマークが表
示される。また、電子番組表の一番下に今日の言葉が記
述されたり、電子番組表の枠が午前は明るい色で、午後
は暗い色で表示される。また、料理が好きな人のため
に、料理番組が目立つ色で表示され、囲碁が好きな人の
ために、囲碁番組の枠が強調された線で表示される。
【００３５】また、スポーツの番組表に、テンプレート
によって、スポーツの種類と対戦情報が表示され、映画
の番組表に、テンプレートによって、映画の題名、監
督、主演者の名前などが表示される。
【００３６】また、ニュースチャンネルの番組表は、落
ち着いた色合いで分刻みのニュース内容が表示され、音
楽チャンネルの番組表では、出演者名がカラフルに紹介
される。
【００３７】また、同一事業者が提供する番組の番組表
には、同一のテンプレートを用いて統一したイメージで
番組情報が表示される。
【００３８】テンプレートは、このように、番組表全体
の総枠を表示するためのテンプレート、番組表の中のチ
ャンネルを表示するためのテンプレート、及び、チャン
ネルの中の個々の番組を表示するためのテンプレートか
ら成り、階層構造を有している。
【００３９】また、テンプレートにはテンプレート識別
子が付加され、このテンプレート識別子には、そのテン
プレートの使い方などを示す情報が含まれる。図７は、
テンプレート識別子のデータ構造の一例を示しており、
識別子を特定するＩＤと、テンプレートの適用対象を示
す対象レベルと、テンプレートの使用が有効な時刻と、
テンプレートを表現している言語と、テンプレートを使
用するために取得しなければならない番組情報と、この
テンプレートがセンター装置から送出される期間と、テ
ンプレートに付加されるコメントの各データが含まれて
いる。
【００４０】前述するように、スポーツの番組表にスポ
ーツの種類と対戦情報を表示し、また、映画の番組表に
映画の題名、監督、主演者の名前などを表示する場合に
は、このスポーツの種類と対戦情報、あるいは、映画の
題名、監督、主演者の名前などのデータはテンプレート
識別子のコメントに記述され、テンプレートに付加され
る。
【００４１】センター装置は、テンプレートを作成した
場合に、そのテンプレートにテンプレート識別子を付し
て端末装置に送信する。端末装置では、テンプレートに
付随するテンプレート識別子に記載されている使用条件
に従って、そのテンプレートを使用する。
【００４２】例えば、テンプレートに識別子ＩＤ１のテ
ンプレート識別子が付随していた場合には、端末装置
は、受信した番組情報からチャンネル番号及びチャンネ
ル名の情報を取得し、対象レベルで指定されたチャンネ
ルの番組表を、このテンプレートを用いて表示する。
【００４３】また、テンプレートに識別子ＩＤ３のテン
プレート識別子が付随していた場合には、端末装置は、
受信した番組情報から番組のジャンル情報を取得し、音
楽番組に関する番組表を、このテンプレートを用いて表
示する。
【００４４】また、テンプレートに識別子ＩＤ５のテン
プレート識別子が付随していた場合には、端末装置は、
受信した番組情報から番組の詳細情報、番組の開始時
刻、終了時刻、番組のタイトルを取得し、指定された番
組の番組表を、このテンプレートを用いて表示する。
【００４５】このように、テンプレートとテンプレート
識別子とが１対１で組み合わされて送信される場合に
は、端末装置は、付随するテンプレート識別子に従って
テンプレートの使用条件を設定する。
【００４６】しかし、テンプレートによっては、あるチ
ャンネルの、午前の、音楽番組において使用する、と言
うように、使用条件が複合的に規定されるケースもあ
る。このような場合、テンプレートと１対１で組み合わ
せたテンプレート識別子で、これら全ての使用条件を指
定することも、勿論、可能であるが、ここでは、複数の
テンプレート識別子を用いて、テンプレートの使用条件
を、より効率的に端末装置に伝える方法について説明す
る。
【００４７】図６は、テンプレートとテンプレート識別
子との関係を示している。各々のテンプレート識別子
は、図７のデータ構造を有しており、従って、テンプレ
ートＡは、あるチャンネルの、午前の、音楽番組の番組
表表示に使用され、テンプレートＢは、同じチャンネル
の、午前の、映画番組の番組表表示に使用され、また、
テンプレートＣは、午前の、特定番組の番組表表示に使
用される。
【００４８】このとき、テンプレート識別子１にテンプ
レートＡ及びテンプレートＢがリンクし、テンプレート
識別子２にテンプレートＡ、テンプレートＢ及びテンプ
レートＣがリンクし、テンプレート識別子３にテンプレ
ートＡがリンクし、テンプレート識別子４にテンプレー
トＢがリンクし、また、テンプレート識別子５にテンプ
レートＣがリンクしていることを端末装置に伝送する。
こうした場合には、各テンプレート識別子のデータは、
それぞれ１度だけの伝送で済むことになる。
【００４９】端末装置は、このテンプレートとテンプレ
ート識別子とのリンクを記憶し、テンプレートを、リン
クするテンプレート識別子によって指定された使用条件
の下で使用する。
【００５０】一方、このテンプレートの使用条件を、テ
ンプレートと１対１で組み合わせたテンプレート識別子
により伝送しようとすると、テンプレート識別子１のデ
ータをテンプレートＡの識別子とテンプレートＢの識別
子との中で伝送する必要があり、また、テンプレート識
別子２のデータをテンプレートＡの識別子とテンプレー
トＢの識別子とテンプレートＣの識別子の中で伝送する
必要がある。
【００５１】このように、テンプレートと、テンプレー
トを使用する条件が指定されたテンプレート識別子と
を、１対１の組では無く、多対１または１対多の組とし
て送信することにより、伝送帯域の無駄な使用を減らす
ことができ、伝送効率を高めることが可能となる。
【００５２】（第２の実施形態）第２の実施形態では、
番組表の表示形式を時刻によって切り替えるシステムに
ついて説明する。
【００５３】図１に示すように、このシステムのセンタ
ー装置10は、時刻を管理する時刻管理部11と、番組表の
テンプレートを作成するテンプレート作成部12と、作成
されたテンプレートを管理するテンプレート管理部13
と、テンプレートの送信日時を管理するテンプレート送
信制御部14と、番組情報を管理する番組情報管理部16
と、伝送路40を通じてテンプレート及び番組情報を送信
するテンプレート伝送部15とを備えており、また、端末
装置20は、センター装置10から送られたテンプレート及
び番組情報を受信する番組情報受信部26と、番組情報を
管理する番組情報管理部27と、表示する番組表のチャン
ネル情報を管理するチャンネル情報管理部25と、テンプ
レートを管理する番組表テンプレート管理部24と、番組
表に使用するテンプレートを選択するテンプレート選択
部23と、選択されたテンプレートを用いて番組表を作成
する番組表作成部22と、時刻を管理する時刻管理部21と
を備えている。
【００５４】このセンター装置10では、テンプレート作
成部12が、現在の時刻、日時等の必要な時刻情報を時刻
管理部11から得ながら、テンプレートとテンプレート識
別子とを作成する。テンプレート作成部12は、例えば、
時刻管理部11から入手した日時情報を基に、番組表の一
番下に「今日の言葉」を組み込んだテンプレートを作成
し、有効時刻を本日に限定したテンプレート識別子を付
加する。あるいは、番組表の枠を午前は明るい色で表示
し、午後は暗い色で表示するテンプレートを作成して、
午前用のテンプレートには、表示時期を午前に限定する
テンプレート識別子を付加し、午後用のテンプレートに
は、表示時期を午後に限定するテンプレート識別子を付
加する。あるいは、春用の華やかなテンプレートを作成
して、表示時期を春に限定するテンプレート識別子を付
加する。
【００５５】テンプレート識別子はテンプレートに付随
するものであるから、以下、特に断らない限り、テンプ
レートにはテンプレート識別子の情報が含まれているも
のとして説明する。
【００５６】作成されたテンプレートはテンプレート管
理部13で一度保存される。
【００５７】テンプレート送信制御部14は、テンプレー
ト識別子の送出期間として設定されているスケジュール
を参照して、時刻管理部11の時刻とスケジュールとを比
較する。そして、伝送開始時間になったとき、つまりス
ケジュールと時刻管理部11の時刻とが一致した時、テン
プレート管理部13で保存されているテンプレートを伝送
するようにテンプレート伝送部15に指示する。これを受
けて、テンプレート伝送部15は、指示されたテンプレー
トと番組情報管理部16から渡された番組情報とを多重化
して伝送路40を通じて端末装置20に送信する。
【００５８】この伝送路40は、デジタル衛星放送では電
波であるが、ＣＡＴＶや地上波のデジタル放送では、そ
れらに応じた伝送路となる。
【００５９】端末装置20の番組情報受信部26は、センタ
ー装置10から送られた情報を受信すると、テンプレート
を番組表テンプレート管理部24に、番組情報を番組情報
管理部27に振り分け、また、必要に応じて、番組情報の
中のチャンネル情報をチャンネル情報管理部25に振り分
ける。
【００６０】番組表テンプレート管理部24は、入力した
テンプレートをテンプレート識別子で指定された時刻情
報と対応付けて管理する。
【００６１】視聴者が番組表の表示操作を行なうと、端
末装置20の番組表作成部22は、時刻管理部21から時刻情
報を取得し、この時刻情報を基に、テンプレート選択部
23にテンプレートの選択を依頼する。テンプレート選択
部23は、番組表テンプレート管理部24から、時刻情報に
基づいて、表示時期に該当する１つ以上のテンプレート
を取得し、また、表示する番組表のチャンネルの情報を
チャンネル情報管理部25から取得し、これらの情報を番
組表作成部22に渡す。
【００６２】番組表作成部22は、テンプレート選択部23
から取得したテンプレートを調べて、必要な情報を番組
情報管理部27から取得し、番組表を作成する。テンプレ
ートには、どこに番組名を記入するか、どこに終了時間
を記入するかという情報も含まれている。番組表作成部
22は、これらの情報を基に、番組表テンプレート管理部
24から得たテンプレートを解釈して、番組情報管理部27
から得た情報をテンプレートの必要な場所に埋め込み、
番組表を作成する。
【００６３】こうして、番組表の一番下に、本日の「今
日の言葉」が記述された番組表が表示され、あるいは、
枠の線が午前には明るい色で、午後には暗い色で画かれ
た番組表が表示され、あるいは、春には、春らしい華や
かな模様の番組表が表示される。
【００６４】なお、テンプレートの使用条件として、時
刻とともに、チャンネルが指定されている場合には、テ
ンプレート選択部23は、チャンネル情報管理部25より取
得した、表示する番組表のチャンネル情報に基づいて、
番組表テンプレート管理部24から、表示時期に該当し、
且つ、表示する番組表のチャンネルに該当するテンプレ
ートを取得して番組作成部22に渡し、番組作成部22は、
このテンプレートを用いて、チャンネル用の番組表を作
成する。
【００６５】また、階層構造を持つことが可能なテンプ
レートでは、チャンネル用のテンプレートとは別に、例
えば、音楽番組を対象とするテンプレートが作成され
る。このとき、テンプレート選択部23は、チャンネル情
報管理部25から、表示する番組表のチャンネル情報を取
得するとともに、番組情報管理部27から該当するチャン
ネルの番組情報を取得する。そして、表示されるチャン
ネルの番組表に音楽番組が含まれるときには、番組表テ
ンプレート管理部24から、音楽番組用のテンプレートを
取得して、チャンネル用のテンプレートとともに番組作
成部22に渡す。番組作成部22は、このチャンネル用のテ
ンプレートの中に、音楽番組用のテンプレートを埋め込
む作業を行ない、番組表を作成する。これらの動作につ
いては、第３の実施形態で詳しく説明する。
【００６６】なお、センター装置10は、他の媒体により
テンプレートが提供される場合に、テンプレート作成部
12を除いて構成することができる。このとき、他の媒体
から供給されたテンプレートは、テンプレート管理部13
で同様に管理される。
【００６７】また、テンプレートと番組情報との端末装
置20への伝送は、それぞれ別の伝送路を経由して、端末
装置に送るようにしても良い。
【００６８】（第３の実施形態）第３の実施形態では、
番組表の表示形式を番組情報に応じて切り替えるシステ
ムについて説明する。
【００６９】このシステムでは、図２に示すように、セ
ンター装置10のテンプレート作成部12が、番組情報管理
部16から取得した番組情報を参考にしてテンプレートを
作成する。その他の構成は第２の実施形態と変わりがな
い。
【００７０】この番組情報管理部16には、番組情報とし
て、例えば、番組のタイトル、番組のジャンル、番組の
出演者、番組の説明、番組が２ヶ国語放送なのか、音楽
放送なのか、データ放送なのかという番組のコンポーネ
ント情報などが保持されている。
【００７１】テンプレート作成部12は、例えば、チャン
ネルと番組との階層レベルのテンプレートを作成する場
合には、まず、番組情報管理部16の番組情報を調べ、放
送されるチャンネルの一覧を取得し、その一覧を基に、
チャンネル毎、または、所定数を纏めたチャンネル群の
番組表表示に必要なテンプレート及びテンプレート識別
子を作成する。作成されたテンプレートは、テンプレー
ト識別子とともにテンプレート管理部13で管理される。
【００７２】次に、テンプレート作成部12は、番組情報
管理部16を再度調べて、例えば、番組のジャンルの一覧
を取得する。また、必要ならば番組の出演者の一覧、コ
ンポーネントの一覧を取得する。そして、その一覧を基
に、番組のジャンル毎、出演者毎、コンポーネント毎の
テンプレートとテンプレート識別子とを作成する。
【００７３】ジャンル別のテンプレートが、例えば、ス
ポーツの番組表にスポーツの種類と対戦情報を表示する
テンプレートであれば、それらデータがコメントとして
テンプレート識別子に付加され、また、映画の番組表に
映画の題名、監督、主演者の名前などを表示するテンプ
レートであれば、それらのデータがコメントとしてテン
プレート識別子に付加される。
【００７４】作成されたこれらのテンプレートは、テン
プレート管理部13で一度保存され、テンプレート送信制
御部14が指定する時間に、テンプレート伝送部15から、
番組情報とともに端末装置20に送られる。この動作は第
２の実施形態で説明した通りである。
【００７５】端末装置20に伝送されたテンプレート及び
番組情報は、番組情報受信部26により、テンプレートが
番組表テンプレート管理部24に、番組情報が番組情報管
理部に振り分けられ、必要に応じて番組情報の中のチャ

る。

ンプレートには、テンプレート識別子によりチャンネル
情報やジャンル情報が付加されており、番組表テンプレ
ート管理部24は、テンプレートとチャンネル情報、ある
いはテンプレートとジャンル情報を対応付けて管理す
る。

択部23は、表示する番組表のチャンネル情報をチャンネ
ル情報管理部25から取得し、また、必要な場合には番組
情報を番組情報管理部27から取得して、それらの情報を
基に、適合する１つ以上のテンプレートを番組表テンプ
レート管理部24から選択し、番組表作成部22に渡す。

27から、表示する番組表の各チャンネルにおける番組情
報を求め、各チャンネル毎のジャンル情報を取得する。

テンプレートのジャンル情報を、付随するテンプレート
識別子によって調べ、取得したジャンル情報に適合する
番組用のテンプレートを選択対象として決定する。

から渡されたテンプレートを調べ、必要な情報を番組情
報管理部27から取得してテンプレートの必要な場所に埋
め込み、番組表を作成する。この動作は、第２の実施形
態で説明したものと同じである。

部12がチャンネル用のテンプレートと番組用のテンプレ
ートとを関連付けて作成している場合には、テンプレー

併せて呼び出され、番組表作成部22は、このチャンネル

テムについて説明する。

ンター装置10が、全ての視聴者に関する情報を管理する
視聴者情報管理部17を具備し、また、端末装置20が、こ
の端末装置20の利用者の情報を管理する視聴者情報管理
部28を具備している。その他の構成は第２の実施形態
（図１）と変わりがない。

情報は、例えば、視聴者（利用者）の所在地、趣味・嗜
好、年齢、性別等である。

れぞれの年齢層の視聴者向け番組表表示用テンプレート
を作成する。

碁番組が目立つテンプレートを作成する。また、年齢別
のテンプレートでは、例えば、２０歳未満の視聴者向け
に、２０歳以上が対象の番組の番組情報が何も表示され
ない未成年者用テンプレートを作成する。
【００８７】作成されたテンプレートは、テンプレート
管理部13で保存された後、第２の実施形態で説明したよ
うに、テンプレート送信制御部14が指定する時間に、テ
ンプレート伝送部15から、番組情報とともに端末装置20
に送られる。
【００８８】端末装置20に伝送されたテンプレート及び
番組情報は、番組情報受信部26により、テンプレートが
番組表テンプレート管理部24に、番組情報が番組情報管
理部に振り分けられ、必要に応じて番組情報の中のチャ
ンネル情報がチャンネル情報管理部25に振り分けられ
る。

ンプレートには、テンプレート識別子により視聴者情報
が付加されており、番組表テンプレート管理部24は、テ

視聴者情報と照合して、番組表表示に使用するテンプレ
ートを決定する。

視聴者情報が囲碁好きであることを示しており、また、
表示されるチャンネルの番組表の中に囲碁番組のジャン
ルが含まれているときには、テンプレート選択部23は、
囲碁好きな人用のテンプレートを選択する。また、視聴
者情報が２０歳未満を示しており、また、表示されるチ
ャンネルの番組表の中に視聴対象年齢が２０歳以上であ
る番組が含まれているときには、テンプレート選択部23
は、未成年者用テンプレートを選択する。
【００９３】番組表作成部22は、テンプレート選択部23
によって選択されたテンプレートを調べ、必要な情報を
番組情報管理部27から取得してテンプレートの必要な場
所に埋め込み、番組表を作成する。
【００９４】こうして、番組表の中で視聴者の嗜好に合
う番組が目立つように強調表示される。そのため、視聴
者は、自分が見たい番組を視覚的に簡単に発見すること
ができる。また、視聴者が未成年者であるときには、２
０歳以上が対象の番組の番組情報は何も表示されない。
【００９５】（第５の実施形態）第５の実施形態では、
番組表の表示形式が端末装置のアスペクト比などに応じ
て自動的に切り替わるシステムについて説明する。
【００９６】このシステムでは、図４に示すように、セ
ンター装置10が、視聴者の端末装置の情報を管理する視
聴者情報管理部17を具備し、また、端末装置20が、この
端末装置20の情報を管理する端末情報管理部29を具備し
ている。その他の構成は第２の実施形態（図１）と変わ
りがない。
【００９７】視聴者情報管理部17に管理されている情報
は、例えば、視聴者が所有している受信端末のメーカ、
型番、受信端末に接続されている映像機器のメーカ、型
番等である。

は、視聴者情報管理部17の視聴者情報を調べ、例えば、
視聴者が所有している受信端末の一覧を取得して、その
一覧を基に、端末のメーカー毎、または、型番毎に必要
となる番組表表示用のテンプレートを作成する。例え
ば、画面サイズが１５inchの端末に使用するテンプレー
トや、１７inchの端末に使用するテンプレートなど、画
面サイズに応じたテンプレートを作成し、また、HiVisi
onの画面まで表示できるテンプレートや、通常画面まで
の表示しかできないテンプレートなどを作成する。

管理部13で保存された後、第２の実施形態で説明したよ
うに、テンプレート送信制御部14が指定する時間に、テ
ンプレート伝送部15から、番組情報とともに端末装置20
に送られる。

行なうと、番組表作成部22は、時刻管理部21から時刻情

ンプレート選択部23に渡して、テンプレートの選択を依
頼する。

のチャンネル情報をチャンネル情報管理部25から取得
し、また、必要ならば、そのチャンネルの番組情報を番
組情報管理部27から取得し、そのチャンネルまたは番組
情報のテンプレートとして、先に端末情報管理部29から
取得した端末情報と合致するテンプレートが、番組表テ
ンプレート管理部24に保持されているかどうかを探し、
合致するものがあれば、そのテンプレートを選択して番
組表作成部22に渡す。

有しているとき、番組表の表示チャンネルのテンプレー
トとして、HiVisionの画面まで表示できるテンプレート
と、通常画面までの表示しかできないテンプレートとが
用意されている場合には、HiVisionの画面まで表示でき
るテンプレートを選択する。
【０１０５】また、この端末装置20の画面サイズが１５
inchであるとき、番組情報の表示用テンプレートとして
各画面サイズに応じた各種テンプレートが用意されてい
る場合には、１５inch用のテンプレートを選択する。
【０１０６】番組表作成部22は、テンプレート選択部23
によって選択されたテンプレートを調べ、必要な情報を
番組情報管理部27から取得してテンプレートの必要な場
所に埋め込み、番組表を作成する。
【０１０７】この結果、番組表は端末装置の画面サイズ
などに応じて表示される。例えば、画面サイズが小さい
場合には、文字潰れが生じないように、文字の大きさや
配列が選択されて番組表が表示され、また、広角画面で
は、画面の半分を使用して番組表が表示され、残りの半
分に番組の映像が縮小して表示される。従って、視聴者
は、自分の端末装置に適する形で番組表を見ることがで
きる。
【０１０８】（第６の実施形態）第６の実施形態では、
受信した番組表を印刷等によって出力するシステムにつ
いて説明する。
【０１０９】図５に示すように、このシステムの端末装
置20は、番組表を表示する番組表表示部30と、番組表を
印刷する番組表印刷部31と、番組表をプリンターや外部
記憶装置50に出力する番組表出力部32とを具備してい
る。端末装置20のその他の構成は第１の実施形態（図
１）と同じであり、また、センター装置10の構成は第５
の実施形態（図４）と同じである。
【０１１０】センター装置10のテンプレート作成部12は
番組表表示用のテンプレートを作成し、作成されたテン
プレートは番組情報とともに端末装置20に送られる。
【０１１１】端末装置20に伝送されたテンプレート及び
番組情報は、番組情報受信部26により振り分けられ、テ
ンプレートが番組表テンプレート管理部24に、番組情報
が番組情報管理部27に記憶される。
【０１１２】番組表作成部22は、番組情報管理部27か
ら、番組表に表示するチャンネルの一覧を取得し、その
一覧を基に、チャンネル毎の番組情報を番組情報管理部
27から取得し、また、テンプレート選択部23を通じて番
組表テンプレート管理部24からテンプレートを取得し
て、番組表を作成する。
【０１１３】作成された番組表は、番組表表示部30を通
じて画面上に表示され、また、番組表印刷部31を通じて
プリントアウトされる。
【０１１４】また、作成された番組表の情報は、番組表
出力部32を通じてプリンターや外部記憶装置50に出力さ
れ、プリンターで印刷されたり、または、外部記憶装置
に記憶される。
【０１１５】番組表作成部22によって作成される番組表
がＨＴＭＬ(Hyper Text Markup Language)で表現されて
いる場合には、番組表出力部32をパソコンに接続するこ
とにより、パソコン上で番組表を表示することが可能と
なる。
【０１１６】また、番組表作成部22によって作成される
番組表がPost Scriptで表現されている場合には、番組
出力部32にPostscript Printerを接続することにより、
番組表を印刷することが可能となる。
【０１１７】このように、この端末装置では、番組の映
像表示とは独立に、番組表を表示することができる。そ
のため、番組表を見るために番組の映像を中断しなけれ
ばならない、と言う不便が解消できる。
【０１１８】また、番組表を印刷物にして手元に残すこ
とができる。従って、例えば、１週間先の番組表を印刷
して置けば、毎回番組表をテレビ等に表示しなくても、
容易に番組表を確認することができる。
【０１１９】また、番組表の情報を番組表出力部から出
力することにより、番組情報の再利用が可能になり、番
組表を他の機器でも表示させることができる。

【発明の効果】以上の説明から明らかなように、本発明
のセンター装置は、視聴者が目的の情報を見つけ易い番
組表を供給することができ、また、放送の送り手側の特
色を出した番組表を提供することができる。端末装置
は、このセンター装置からの放送を受けて、チャンネル
毎に異なる番組表を表示したり、番組毎に異なる番組表
を表示したり、時間帯毎に異なる番組表を表示したり、
視聴している視聴者毎に異なる番組表を表示したり、端
末装置の構成に適した形態で番組表を表示したりするこ
とができる。
【０１２１】また、この端末装置では、番組の映像を見
ながら、番組表を表示させたり、番組表を印刷して保存
したり、番組表の情報を外部装置で利用したりすること
が可能である。

Claims (18)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 日時を管理する時刻管理手段と、 番組表を構成するためのテンプレートを管理するテンプ
    レート管理手段と、 前記テンプレートを送信するテンプレート伝送手段と、 前記テンプレートの送信日時を管理し、前記送信日時と
    前記時刻管理手段で管理されている日時とが一致したと
    き、前記テンプレート伝送手段にテンプレートの送信を
    促すテンプレート送信制御手段とを備えることを特徴と
    するセンター装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記テンプレートが、該テンプレートを
    利用する条件が記述されたテンプレート識別子とともに
    送信されることを特徴とする請求項１に記載のセンター
    装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記テンプレートと前記テンプレート識
    別子とが１対１に組み合わされて送信されることを特徴
    とする請求項２に記載のセンター装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記テンプレートと前記テンプレート識
    別子とが多対１または１対多に組み合わされて送信され
    ることを特徴とする請求項２に記載のセンター装置。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記テンプレートを利用する条件が、チ
    ャンネル情報で規定されていることを特徴とする請求項
    ２乃至４に記載のセンター装置。
  6. 【請求項６】 前記テンプレートを利用する条件が、番
    組のコンテンツ情報で規定されていることを特徴とする
    請求項２乃至４に記載のセンター装置。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記テンプレートを利用する条件が、時
    刻情報で規定されていることを特徴とする請求項２乃至
    ４に記載のセンター装置。
  8. 【請求項８】 前記テンプレートを利用する条件が、視
    聴者情報で規定されていることを特徴とする請求項２乃
    至４に記載のセンター装置。
  9. 【請求項９】 前記テンプレートを利用する条件が、端
    末情報で規定されていることを特徴とする請求項２乃至
    ４に記載のセンター装置。
  10. 【請求項１０】 番組表を構成するテンプレートと前記
    テンプレートを利用する条件とを対にして管理する番組
    表テンプレート管理手段と、 番組情報を管理する番組情報管理手段と、 利用する条件にマッチするテンプレートを前記番組表テ
    ンプレート管理手段から選択するテンプレート選択手段
    と、 前記テンプレート選択手段で選択されたテンプレートを
    用いて前記番組情報管理手段から必要な番組情報を取得
    し、番組表を作成する番組表作成手段とを備えることを
    特徴とする端末装置。
  11. 【請求項１１】 番組表のチャンネル情報を管理するチ
    ャンネル情報管理手段を具備し、前記番組表テンプレー
    ト管理手段が、前記テンプレートをチャンネル情報と対
    にして管理し、前記テンプレート選択手段が、前記チャ
    ンネル情報管理手段で管理されているチャンネル情報に
    マッチするチャンネル情報と対になったテンプレートを
    前記番組表テンプレート管理手段から選択することを特
    徴とする請求項１０に記載の端末装置。
  12. 【請求項１２】 番組表に表示される番組のコンテンツ
    情報を管理するコンテンツ情報管理手段を具備し、前記
    番組表テンプレート管理手段が、前記テンプレートを番
    組のコンテンツ情報と対にして管理し、前記テンプレー
    ト選択手段が、前記コンテンツ情報管理手段で管理され
    ているコンテンツ情報にマッチするコンテンツ情報と対
    になったテンプレートを前記番組表テンプレート管理手
    段から選択することを特徴とする請求項１０に記載の端
    末装置。
  13. 【請求項１３】 時刻を管理する時刻管理手段を具備
    し、前記番組表テンプレート管理手段が、前記テンプレ
    ートを時間情報と対にして管理し、前記テンプレート選
    択手段が、前記時刻管理手段で管理されている時刻にマ
    ッチする時間情報と対になったテンプレートを前記番組
    表テンプレート管理手段から選択することを特徴とする
    請求項１０に記載の端末装置。
  14. 【請求項１４】 視聴者情報を管理する視聴者情報管理
    手段を具備し、前記番組表テンプレート管理手段が、前
    記テンプレートを視聴者情報と対にして管理し、前記テ
    ンプレート選択手段が、前記視聴者情報管理手段で管理
    されている視聴者情報にマッチする視聴者情報と対にな
    ったテンプレートを前記番組表テンプレート管理手段か
    ら選択することを特徴とする請求項１０に記載の端末装
    置。
  15. 【請求項１５】 端末情報を管理する端末情報管理手段
    を具備し、前記番組表テンプレート管理手段が、前記テ
    ンプレートを端末情報と対にして管理し、前記テンプレ
    ート選択手段が、前記端末情報管理手段で管理されてい
    る端末情報にマッチする端末情報と対になったテンプレ
    ートを前記番組表テンプレート管理手段から選択するこ
    とを特徴とする請求項１０に記載の端末装置。
  16. 【請求項１６】 前記番組表作成手段で作成された番組
    表を外部装置に出力する番組表出力手段を具備すること
    を特徴とする請求項１０乃至１５に記載の端末装置。
  17. 【請求項１７】 前記番組表作成手段で作成された番組
    表を表示する番組表表示手段を具備することを特徴とす
    る請求項１０乃至１６に記載の端末装置。
  18. 【請求項１８】 前記番組表作成手段で作成された番組
    表を印刷する番組表印刷手段を具備することを特徴とす
    る請求項１０乃至１７に記載の端末装置。
