- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.大気中に含まれる少なくとも1つのガス状汚染物質のレベルを下げるための 処理法であって、周囲の空気を、汚染物質処理材料を上に有する汚染物質処理面 との操作的な接触に通すことを含んで成り、汚染物質処理面が固定支持体上に配 置されている、上記方法。 2.汚染物質処理材料が、1つ以上の触媒組成物および1つ以上の吸着組成物か ら成る群から選択される少なくとも1つの組成物を含んで成る、請求の範囲第1 項に記載の方法。 3.汚染物質処理材料が、オゾンの酸素への転換、二酸化炭素を生成するための 一酸化炭素と酸素との反応、および炭化水素の分解から成る群から選択される1 つ以上の化学反応を促進するための、1つ以上の触媒組成物を含んで成る、請求 の範囲第2項に記載の方法。 4.汚染物質処理材料が、オゾンの酸素への転換を促進するための触媒組成物を 含んで成り、該触媒組成物が、マンガン成分、銅成分、アルミナ成分、貴金属成 分、活性炭成分およびその組み合わせから成る群から選択される触媒的に活性な 材料を含んで成る、請求の範囲第3項に記載の方法。 5.汚染物質処理材料が、二酸化炭素を生成するために一酸化炭素と酸素との反 応を促進するための触媒組成物を含んで成り、該触媒組成物が、触媒的に活性な 貴金属成分を含んで成る、請求の範囲第3項に記載の方法。 6.汚染物質処理材料が、炭化水素の分解を促進するための触媒組成物を含んで 成り、該触媒組成物が、触媒的に活性な貴金属成分を含んで成る、請求の範囲第 3項に記載の方法。 7.空気を汚染物質処理材料面と操作的接触に通過させる工程が、周囲の空気を 表面との操作的接触に能動的に引き込むか、または操作的接触を強制することを 含んで成る、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 8.周囲の空気が空気取扱いシステムにより能動的に引き込まれるか、または強 制的に引き込まれ、汚染物質処理面が該空気取扱いシステムの空気接触部材上に 配置されている、請求の範囲第7項に記載の方法。 9.空気取扱いシステムが、ファンの羽根を有するファンを含んで成り、そして 汚染物質処理面がファンの羽根上に配置されている、請求の範囲第8項に記載の 方法。 10.空気取扱いシステムが、フィルター、スクリーンおよび格子から成る群か ら選択される1つ以上の空気接触面を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理表面が1 つ以上の該空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第8項に記載の方法。 11.空気取扱いシステムが、1つ以上の取り外し可能な空気接触面を含んで成 り、そして汚染物質処理面が1つ以上の該取り外し可能な空気接触面上に配置さ れている、請求の範囲第8項に記載の方法。 12.空気取扱いシステムが、伝熱面を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理面が伝 熱面上または伝熱面から下流に配置されている、請求の範囲第8項に記載の方法 。 13.空気取扱いシステムが、さらに伝熱面の下流に位置する1つ以上の取り外 し可能な空気接触面を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理面が1つ以上の該取り外 し可能な空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第12項に記載の方法。 14.上記伝熱面が、該空気取扱いシステムの少なくとも通常操作期間 中に、25℃より高い温度である、請求の範囲第12項に記載の方法。 15.汚染物質処理面が、該空気取扱いシステムの少なくとも通常操作中に、25 ℃より高い温度のものである、請求の範囲第8項に記載の方法。 16.汚染物質処理面が、少なくとも測定できる期間中に、25℃より高い温度に 通常到達するものである、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 17.汚染物質処理材料が、25℃より高い温度でより効果的なものである、請求 の範囲第14、15または16項に記載の方法。 18.汚染物質処理材料が、汚染物質処理面に適用された塗料に含まれている、 請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 19.空気が自然な気流により、汚染物質処理材料面と操作的に接触して通過す る、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 20.上記汚染物質処理面が、構造の外側上に周囲の空気接触面を含んで成る、 請求の範囲第16項に記載の方法。 21.さらに周囲の空気が周囲空気接触面上を通る前に、周囲空気の温度を上昇 させることを含んで成る、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 22.さらに、周囲の空気が周囲空気接触面を通る前に、空気接触面の温度を上 昇させることを含んで成る、請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 23.さらに、周期的に汚染物質処理面を復活させることを含んで成る、請求の 範囲第1項に記載の方法。 24.上記の復活化が、汚染物質処理面の清浄化を含んで成る、請求の範囲第2 3項に記載の方法。 25.上記の復活化が、新しい汚染物質処理材料を汚染物質処理面に加えること を含んで成る、請求の範囲第23項に記載の方法。 26.さらに、新しい材料を加える前に、汚染物質処理面から少なくと も幾らかの存在している汚染物質処理材料を取り除くことを含んて成る、請求の 範囲第25項に記載の方法。 27.周囲の空気が非−ガス状混入物も含み、上記方法がさらに、空気を汚染物 質処理面と接触するように通過させる前に、少なくとも幾らかの非−ガス状混入 物を取り除くために、周囲空気を濾過することを含んで成る、請求の範囲第1項 に記載の方法。 28.中に含まれる少なくとも1つのガス−状汚染物質のレベルを下げるために 、大気を処理するための装置であって、該装置は: (a)少なくとも1つの空気接触面を有する固定支持体; (b)該空気接触面上に配置された汚染物質処理材料;および (c)周囲の空気を汚染物質処理材料と操作的に接触させるように通過させるた めの空気通過手段、 を含んで成る上記装置。 29.空気通過手段が、周囲の空気を汚染物質処理材料との操作的接触に能動的 に引き込むか、または操作的接触を強制するためのデバイスを含んで成る、請求 の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 30.装置が空気取扱いシステムを含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理材料が該空 気取扱いシステムの部材の空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第29項 に記載の装置。 31.空気取扱いシステムが羽根を持つファンを含んで成り、そして汚染物質処 理材料が該ファンの羽根上に配置されている、請求の範囲第30項に記載の装置 。 32.空気取扱いシステムが、フィルター、スクリーンおよび格子から成る群か ら選択される1つ以上の部材を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処 理材料が該部材の1つ以上の空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第30 項に記載の装置。 33.空気取扱いシステムが、空気接触面を有する1つ以上の取り外し可能な部 材を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理材料が該取り外し可能な部材の1つ以上の 空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第30項に記載の装置。 34.空気取扱いシステムが、伝熱面を有する熱交換器を含んで成り、そして汚 染物質処理材料が伝熱面上または伝熱面の下流の部材の空気接触面上に配置され ている、請求の範囲第30項に記載の装置。 35.空気取扱いシステムが、さらに伝熱面の下流に位置する1つ以上の取り外 し可能な部材を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理材料が該取り外し可能な部材の 1つ以上の空気接触面上に配置されている、請求の範囲第34項に記載の装置。 36.上記伝熱面が、該空気取扱いシステムの少なくとも通常操作期間中に、25 ℃より高い温度のものである、請求の範囲第34項に記載の装置。 37.空気接触面が、該空気取扱いシステムの少なくとも通常操作中に、25℃よ り高い温度のものである、請求の範囲第30項に記載の装置。 38.空気接触面が、少なくとも測定できる期間中に、25℃より高い温度に通常 到達するものである、請求の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 39.汚染物質処理材料が、25℃より高い温度でより効果的なものである、請求 の範囲第36、37および38に記載の装置。 40.空気接触面に適用された塗料を含んで成り、そして汚染物質処理材料が塗 料に含まれる、請求の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 41.空気通過手段が自然な気流である、請求の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 42.構造の空気接触外側面上に配置された汚染物質処理材料を有する構造を含 んで成る、請求の範囲第41項に記載の装置。 43.周囲の空気が汚染物質処理材料との操作的接触を通る前に、周囲空気の温 度を上昇させるための手段を含んで成る、請求の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 44.さらに、周囲の空気が汚染物質処理材料との操作的接触を通る前に、汚染 物質処理材料の温度を上昇させる手段を含んで成る、請求の範囲第28項に記載 の装置。 45.さらに、空気を汚染物質処理材料と接触するように通過させる前に、少な くとも幾らかの非−ガス状混入物を取り除くために周囲空気を濾過するための手 段を含んで成る、請求の範囲第28項に記載の装置。 46.大気中に含まれる少なくとも1つのガス−状汚染物質のレベルを下げるた めの、大気を処理するためのデバイスであって、該デバイスはそこを通る周囲の 空気流を、引き込む、または強制する固定の空気取扱いシステム上に操作的に取 り付けられることができ、該デバイスは: (a)少なくとも1つの空気接触面を含んで成る支持体手段; (b)該空気接触面上に配置された汚染物質処理材料;および (c)該デバイスを該空気取扱いシステムに、汚染物質処理材料が周囲の空気流 と操作的に接触するように取り付けるための取り付け手段、を含んで成る上記デ バイス。 47.取り付け手段が、上記空気取扱いシステムに固定されているフレイムであ り、そして支持体手段を、汚染物質処理材料が周囲の空気流と 操作的に接触するように維持することができる、請求の範囲第46項に記載のデ バイス。 48.支持体手段がフレイムから取り外せる、請求の範囲第47項に記載のデバ イス。
