Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1の情報層及び第1の厚さの第1の透明層を有する第1のタイプの記録担 体と、第2の情報層及び第1の厚さと異なる第2の厚さの第2の透明層を有する 第2の記録担体の2つのタイプの記録担体を走査する光学走査装置において、当 該装置は放射ビームを発生する放射源と、放射ビームを第1の透明層を経て第1 の情報層上で焦点に収束させるように設計されたレンズ系と、記録担体から反射 された放射ビーム内に配置された検出システムと、放射源と検出システムとの間 の光路内に配置された不透明リングと、放射ビームの最良焦点を第1の情報層上 にほぼ位置させるとともに前記放射ビームの近軸焦点を第2の情報層上にほぼ位 置させる位置調整手段とを具えることを特徴とする光学走査装置。 2.前記リングの内側円の半径は0.75r1〜1.25r1の範囲内にあり、こ こでr1は、 で与えられ、λは放射ビームの波長、nは第2透明層の屈折率、Δdは第1の厚 さと第2の厚さとの差、r0はリングの位置における放射ビームの半径、及びN A0はレンズ系により収束される放射ビームの開口数であることを特徴とする請 求項1記載の光学走査装置。 3.前記リングは放射源から記録担体への放射ビーム内及び記録担体からの放射 ビーム内に配置され、該リングは0.05r0〜0.25r0の範囲内の幅を有す ることを特徴とする請求項2記載の光学走査装置。 4.前記リングは記録担体からの放射ビーム内にのみ配置され、該リングは0. 15r0〜0.25r0の範囲内の幅を有することを特徴とする請求項2記載の光 学走査装置。 5.第1の情報層及び第1の厚さの第1の透明層を有する第1のタイプの記録担 体と、第2の情報層及び第1の厚さと異なる第2の厚さの第2の透明層を有す る第2の記録担体の2つのタイプの記録担体を光学的に走査する方法において、 第1のタイプの記録担体を走査するとき、放射ビームをレンズ系により第1の透 明層を経てほぼ第1の情報層上で最良焦点に収束させるステップと、第2のタイ プの記録担体を走査するとき、放射ビームを前記レンズ系により第2の透明層を 経てほぼ第2の情報層上で近軸焦点に収束させるステップと、記録担体から反射 された放射を検出システムに収束させるステップと、放射源と検出システムとの 間の光路内に配置された不透明リングにより反射ビームの一部分が検出システム に到達するのを阻止するステップとを具えることを特徴とする走査方法。 6.第1のタイプの記録担体の走査時に記録担体から反射された放射ビームの断 面の少なくとも外側環状部分内の放射から最良焦点誤差信号を形成するステップ と、第2のタイプの記録担体の走査時に主として外側環状部分内の中心部分内の 放射から近軸焦点誤差を形成するステップと、レンズ系の位置を第1のタイプの 記録担体の走査時には最良焦点誤差信号に応答して、第2のタイプの記録担体の 走査時には近軸焦点誤差信号に応答して制御するステップとを具えることを特徴 とする請求項5記載の方法。 7.第1のタイプの記録担体の走査時に記録担体から反射された放射ビームのほ ぼ全断面内の放射から情報信号を発生させるステップと、第2のタイプの記録担 体の走査時に前記断面の中心部分内の放射から情報信号を発生させるステップと を具えることを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
