Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 鉄含有鉱石を含む鉄含有原料、製鋼所での廃棄物及び他の冶金学的な行程 での廃棄物から鉄元素を回収するための金属酸化物微粉末の処理方法において、 前記処理方法は、 a) 鉄酸化物を含む金属酸化物を有する鉄含有原料を炭質原料と結合して乾燥 混合物を形成する行程と、 b) 前記炭質原料から揮発物を出して前記乾燥混合物を接着して圧粉体を形成 するのに十分な条件下で前記乾燥混合物をかたまりにする行程と、 C) 圧粉体の存在しない予熱された回転炉床炉のゾーンの中へ前記圧粉体を装 填して、約2つの圧粉体の高さの平均した層深さを有する圧粉体の層を形成する 行程と、 d) 約21500°F〜2350°F(1176℃〜1288℃)の間の温度 で約5〜12分間、前記圧粉体を加熱して、前記圧粉体を還元し、前記圧粉体か ら望ましくない酸化物を放出する行程と、 e) 前記回転炉床炉から前記還元された圧粉体を排出する行程 とを特徴とする方法。 2. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記炭質原料が少なくとも20重量パーセ ントの揮発物を含む瀝青炭である方法。 3. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記炭質原料が少なくとも30重量パーセ ントの揮発物を含む瀝青炭である方法。 4. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記炭質原料が約20〜30重量パーセン トの間の揮発物を含む方法。 5. 請求項3記載の方法であって、前記乾燥混合物を1平方インチ当たり約1 0,000ポンド(6.45cm2当たり約4,540kg)以上の圧力でかたまり にする方法。 6. 請求項4記載の方法であって、前記乾燥混合物を1平方インチ当たり約1 0,000ポンド(6.45cm2当たり約4,540kg)以上の圧力で且つ約8 00°F(427℃)以上の温度でかたまりにする方法。 7. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記圧粉体を前記回転炉床炉の炉床上に分 配して、ほぼ2つの圧粉体の高さの平均した層深さを有する圧粉体の層を形成す る方法。 8. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記回転炉床炉が 約2000°F(1093℃)以上に加熱された圧粉体の存在しない予熱ゾー ンと、 前記回転炉床炉に圧粉体を装填するための装填ゾーンと、 前記圧粉体内に含まれる炭素が金属酸化物と反応して金属単体、一酸化炭素、 二酸化炭素を生じる還元ゾーンと、 前記鉄単体を含む還元された圧粉体を前記回転炉床炉から排出する排出ゾーン とを備える方法。 9. 請求項8記載の方法であって、前記還元ゾーンの温度は約2500°F( 1371℃)である方法。 10. 請求項8記載の方法であって、窒素酸化物を形成しにくい低燃焼速度を達 成するのに十分に低い速度で空気を回転炉床炉に導入する方法。 11. 請求項8記載の方法であって、前記金属酸化物の還元を、約2〜5のCO/C O2比で達成する方法。 12. 請求項8記載の方法であって、前記金属酸化物の還元を、約3のCO/CO2比 で達成する方法。 13. 請求項1記載の方法であって、熱い廃棄物ガスが前記回転炉床炉の前記還 元ゾーンを去り、金属酸化物蒸気を更に冷却し酸化するガスコンディショナに導 く方法。 14. 請求項8記載の方法であって、前記鉄酸化物の還元を完全にし、前記圧粉 体から亜鉛酸化物、カドミウム酸化物および鉛酸化物の99%以上を除去するの に十分な温度の灼熱炉へ、前記圧粉体を排出する方法。 15. 請求項14記載の方法であって、前記還元された圧粉体を2350°F( 1288℃)の温度で排出する方法。 16. 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記還元された圧粉体が約2〜10重量パ ーセントの炭素を含む、方法。 17. 請求項8記載の方法であって、該方法が、不活性雰囲気内で前記還元され た圧粉体を冷却する行程を更に有する方法。 18. 請求項8記載の方法であって、該方法が、高められた温度の前記還元され た圧粉体を製鋼工程へ移行する行程を有する方法。 19. 鉄含有鉱石を含む鉄含有原料、製鋼所での廃棄物及び他の冶金学的な行程 での廃棄物から鉄元素を回収するための金属酸化物微粉末の処理方法において、 前記処理方法は、 a) 鉄酸化物を含む金属酸化物を有する鉄含有原料を炭質原料と結合して乾燥 混合物を形成する行程と、 b) 前記乾燥混合物を1平方インチ当たり約10,000ポンド(6.45cm2 当たり約4,540kg)以上の圧力でかたまりにし、前記炭質原料から揮発物 を出してバインダーとして機能させて、前記乾燥混合物を結合させて圧粉体を形 成する行程と、 c) 圧粉体の存在しない予熱された回転炉床炉の中へ前記圧粉体を装填して、 約2つ分の圧粉体の高さの圧粉体の層を形成する行程と、 d) 約2150〜2350°F(1176〜1288℃)の間の温度で且つほ ぼ2〜5のCO/CO2比で、約5〜12分間、前記圧粉体を加熱して、前記圧粉体を 還元し、前記圧粉体から望ましくない酸化物を放出する行程と、 e) 前記回転炉床炉から前記還元された圧粉体を排出して、前記鉄酸化物の還 元を完全にし且つ前記圧粉体から亜鉛酸化物、カドミウム酸化物および鉛酸化物 の99%以上を除去するのに十分な温度の灼熱炉へ前記圧粉体を送り、鉄元素と 約2〜10重量パーセントの炭素を含む圧粉体を提供する行程と を備える方法。
