Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.内燃機関(10、10a、10bおよび10c)であって、該内燃機関のシ リンダに関連する吸入バルブ(30)と、該シリンダに関連する排出バルブ(6 0)と、該吸入バルブ(30)の可能な開きに同期した少なくとも1つのローブ (42a、42bおよび42)を有する吸入カム(40)と、該排出バルブ(6 0)の可能な開きに同期した複数のローブ(72aおよび72b)を有する排出 カム(70)と、該吸入カムローブ(42a、42bおよび42)に選択的に応 答して該吸入バルブ(30)を開けるように該吸入カム(40)および該吸入バ ルブ(30)の間で作動可能に結合された作動液を含有する第1の流体連結部( 50、54および58)と、該排出カムローブ(72aおよび72b)に選択的 に応答して該排出バルブ(60)を開けるように該排出カム(70)および該排 出バルブ(60)の間に作動可能に結合された作動液を含有する第2の流体連結 部(80、84および86)と、該第1の流体連結部(50、54および58) 内の作動液圧を選択的に制御することにより、該吸入カムローブ(42a、42 bおよび42)に応答して該吸入バルブ(30)の開きを選択的に調整する第1 の作動液制御部(52)と、該第2の流体連結部(80、84および88)内の 作動液圧を選択的に制御することにより、該排出カムローブ(72aおよび72 b)に応答して該排出バルブ(60)の開きを選択的に調整する第2の作動液制 御部(82)とを備え、該第1および第2の作動液制御部(52および82)が 、該エンジンの4サイクルポジティブパワーモードまたは2サイクル圧縮リリー スブレーキモード作動のいずれにおいても、該吸入および排出カムローブ(42 a、42b、42、72aおよび72b)に応答して、該吸入および排出バルブ (30および60)の開きを生じるように該第1および第2の流体連結部(54 および84)を制御するように選択的に作動可能であることを特徴とする、内燃 機関。 2.前記作動液制御部(52および82)の少なくとも一方が、該作動液制御部 に関連する前記流体連結部(54および84)から作動液を選択的にリリースす るためのバルブ(52および82)を含む、請求項1に記載の内燃機関。 3.前記バルブ(52および82)が、電子制御回路(100)によって制御さ れる電動バルブである、請求項2に記載の内燃機関。 4.前記流体連結部(54および84)の少なくとも一方が、該流体連結部が作 動可能に結合された前記カム(40および70)上の前記単数または複数のロー ブに応答して往復運動するマスタピストン(50および80)と、該流体連結部 (54および84)内における作動液の圧力および流量(pressure and flow)に 応答して選択的に往復運動するスレーブピストン(58および88)とを備え、 これにより、該流体連結部(54および84)が作動可能に結合した前記バルブ (30および60)を選択的に開く、請求項1に記載の内燃機関。 5.前記排出バルブ(60)を、前記排出カム(70)上の任意の第1のローブ (72aおよび72b)に応答して完全に閉じた状態に維持し、該排出カム(7 0)上の任意の第2のローブ(72aおよび72b)に応答して開くように、前 記第2の作動液制御部(82)が選択的に作動可能である、請求項1に記載の内 燃機関。 6.前記吸入カム(40)が複数のローブ(42aおよび42b)を有し、且つ 、前記吸入バルブ(30)を、該吸入カム(40)上の任意の第1のローブ(4 2aおよび42b)に応答して完全に閉じた状態に維持し、該吸入カム(40) 上の任意の第2のローブ(42aおよび42b)に応答して開くように、前記第 1の作動液制御部(52)が選択的に作動可能である、請求項1に記載の内燃機 関。 7.前記第1および第2の流体連結部(54および84)を選択的に相互接続す ることにより、該連結部の一方における流体圧パルスを該連結部の他方に伝達し て、該連結部の該他方が作動可能に結合した前記バルブ(30および60)を開 く、流体相互接続部(112および122)をさらに備えた、請求項1に記載の 内燃機関。 8.前記流体圧パルスが、前記連結部の前記一方が作動可能に結合した前記カム (40および70)上のローブによって、該連結部(54および84)の該一方 の中で生じる、請求項7に記載の内燃機関。 9.前記流体相互接続部(112および122)が、前記連結部(54および8 4)の前記一方の流体結合を、さもなくば該連結部(54および84)の該一方 が結合する前記バルブ(30および60)から該連結部(54および84)の前 記他方が結合した前記バルブ(30および60)に選択的に切り換える(diverti ng)作動液切換器(110および120)を備えている、請求項8に記載の内燃 機関。 10.前記切換器(110および120)が、電子制御回路(100)によって 制御される電動バルブ(110および120)である、請求項9に記載の内燃機 関。 11.前記流体相互接続部(112および122)が、前記第1の流体連結部( 54)から前記第2の流体連結部(84)に流体圧パルスを選択的に伝達する第 1のそのような相互接続部(112)であり、且つ、前記装置が、該第2の流体 連結部(84)から該第1の流体連結部(54)に流体圧パルスを選択的に伝達 することにより前記吸入バルブ(30)を開く第2の流体相互接続部(122) をさらに備えた、請求項7に記載の内燃機関。 12.前記第2の流体相互接続部(122)によって伝達される前記流体圧パル スは、前記排出カム(70)上のローブ(72aおよび72b)によって前記第 2の流体連結部(84)の中で生じる、請求項11に記載の内燃機関。 13.前記作動液切換器(110および120)が第1のそのような切換器(1 10)であり、且つ、前記第2の流体相互接続部(122)が、前記第2の流体 連結部(84)の流体結合を前記排出バルブ(60)から前記吸入バルブ(30 )に選択的に切り換える第2の作動液切換器(120)を備えている、請求項1 2に記載の内燃機関。 14.前記第2の切換器(120)が、電子制御回路(100)によって制御さ れる電動バルブ(120)である、請求項13に記載の内燃機関。 15.前記電子制御回路(100)がマイクロプロセッサを含む、請求項3、1 0または14に記載の内燃機関。 16.前記エンジンの作動パラメータをモニタするとともに、該パラメータを示 す出力信号を生成するセンサ(102)をさらに備え、該出力信号を前記電子制 御回路(100)に与えて、該制御回路に、該パラメータに従って前記電動バル ブ(52、82、110および120)の作動を調整させる、請求項3、10ま たは14に記載の内燃機関。 17.前記パラメータが、前記内燃機関がポジティブパワーモードまたは圧縮リ リースエンジンブレーキモードのいずれになるのかを示す指標を含む、請求項1 6に記載の内燃機関。 18.前記制御回路(100)が、前記センサ(102)の前記出力信号 に応答して、前記内燃機関がポジティブパワーモードになることを前記指標が示 す場合には該内燃機関の4サイクルポジティブパワーモード作動を提供するよう に前記電動バルブ(52、82、110および120)を作動させ、該内燃機関 が圧縮リリースエンジンブレーキモードになることを該指標が示す場合には該内 燃機関の2サイクル圧縮リリースエンジンブレーキモード作動を提供するように 該電動バルブ(52、82、110および120)を作動させる、請求項17に 記載の内燃機関。
