Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the start of a rotor and dissolve the various kinds of inconvenience by reducing a load torque at the start time of the rotor as much as possible, in a vehicular heat generator. SOLUTION: A heat generating room 7 is partitioned in a housing and a rotor 14 connected to a drive shaft 13 and silicon oil (viscous fluid) are stored in the heat generating room 7. A storing hole 17 is formed on the housing of the lower side of the heat generating room 7 and a partition body 35 slid in front/rear sides by an electro-magnetic solenoid 30 is arranged in this storing hole 17. This partition body 35 communicates with the heat generating room 7 through a communication passage 18 and also partitions a volume variable evacuation room 19 in the storing hole 17. The liquid level of an oil in the heat generating room 7 can be changed in response to the front/rear movement of the partition body 35. Therefore, the liquid level of the oil in the heat generating room 7 is dropped at the stop time of the rotor and the load torque at the restart time can be minified.

2. Description of the Related Art As a heating device for a vehicle, heat cooling water used for cooling a water-cooled engine is supplied to a heater core in a duct, and air heated by the heater core is sent into the vehicle interior to heat the vehicle interior. A hot water heating device for a vehicle is generally used. However, in a vehicle such as a diesel engine vehicle or a lean burn engine vehicle, which generates a relatively small amount of heat from the engine and cannot sufficiently heat the engine cooling water, the temperature of the cooling water supplied to the heater core is reduced. Is difficult to maintain at a predetermined water temperature (for example, 80 ° C.), and there is a disadvantage that the heating capacity in the vehicle compartment tends to be insufficient.

[0003] For the purpose of solving such a drawback, a shear heating device (belonging to the category of a vehicle heat generator) is provided as an auxiliary heating device for heating the engine cooling water in the engine cooling water circulation circuit system. Proposed. For example, a shearing heat generator disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2-246823 includes a heat generating chamber and a water jacket (heat radiating chamber) partitioned in a housing, a drive shaft, and a rotor housed in the heat generating chamber. ing. The rotational power of the vehicle engine is transmitted to the drive shaft via a belt transmission mechanism and an electromagnetic clutch, and the rotor rotates integrally with the rotation of the drive shaft. The rotating rotor shears the viscous fluid (for example, high-viscosity silicone oil) contained in the heat generating chamber to generate heat based on fluid friction, and the heat generates a circulating fluid (engine cooling water) flowing through the water jacket. Heating.

However, when the conventional shearing heat generator is started (that is, when the rotational power of the engine is started to be transmitted to the rotor), the viscous fluid whose viscosity has become extremely high due to cooling is increased. This tends to hinder smooth startup of the rotor. In other words, when the shear heating device is started, a large load torque is applied to the engine via the rotor, the electromagnetic clutch, and the belt transmission mechanism. For this reason, when the rotor is started forcibly, a large starting shock occurs, and the clutch plate of the electromagnetic clutch and the belt of the belt transmission mechanism slip. Further, there are disadvantages that abnormal noise is generated and wear of each part of the shearing heat generator is accelerated.

[0007] According to this configuration, the fluid level control means introduces the viscous fluid in the heat generating chamber into the variable volume evacuation chamber according to the changing volume, or derives the viscous fluid once introduced therefrom. Then, the fluid level of the viscous fluid in the heat generating chamber is appropriately changed. Therefore, before the rotor in the stopped state is restarted, the fluid level in the heat generating chamber is reduced in advance, so that the viscous fluid remaining in the heat generating chamber may increase the load torque at the time of restarting the rotor. Can be prevented.

The basic function of the volume changing means is to change the volume of the escape room disposed below the heating chamber. That is, by expanding the volume of the refuge room, the viscous fluid is allowed to be introduced (or evacuated) from the heat generating room to the refuge room based on its own weight or the like. On the other hand, by reducing the volume of the evacuation room that has been once expanded, the viscous fluid evacuated to the evacuation room is led out (or overflows) into the heating chamber. Thus, variable control of the fluid level of the viscous fluid in the heating chamber is realized.

Next, the operation of the vehicle heat generator of the first embodiment will be described for each scene. (Scene 1: When the stopped engine E is started) When the vehicle engine E is stopped (rotation speed = 0 rpm), the pulley 16, the drive shaft 13, and the rotor 14 are also stopped. In this state, each solenoid coil 2
No energization control is performed on 3, 33, and as shown in FIG.
The distal end of the core rod 24 closes the lower communication hole 6e by the urging force of the coil spring 26, and the sliding section 35 is arranged at the foremost position by the urging force of the coil spring 36. In this case, most of the silicone oil (viscous fluid)
It is stored separately in the auxiliary oil chamber 10, the evacuation chamber 19 and the communication passage 18 whose capacity is increased, and almost no oil remains in the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, the rotor 14 can easily rotate without being restrained by the high-viscosity oil. With the start of the vehicle engine E, the pulley 16,
The drive shaft 13 and the rotor 14 also start rotating, but as long as the heater switch 42 is selected to be OFF, the control device 40 does not perform any control and maintains the current state. Accordingly, the clearance between the outer surface of the rotor 14 and the inner wall surface of the heat generating chamber 7 is not filled with silicone oil, and no oil shearing occurs, so that no shear heat is generated.

(Scene 2: Heater Operation After Starting Engine E) During the operation of the vehicle engine E, the heater switch 42 is turned off.
When the answer is N, the control device 40 starts energization control to the solenoid coils 23 and 33 to cause the vehicle heat generator to generate heat. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, an electromagnetic force is generated by energizing the upper solenoid coil 23, whereby the core rod 24 is retracted (moved to the open position) against the urging force of the coil spring 26, and the lower communication is performed. The hole 6e is opened. Thus, the silicone oil in the sub oil chamber 10 starts flowing into the heat generating chamber 7. Due to the retraction of the core rod 24, the oil in the sub oil chamber 10 enters the concave portion 25 at the distal end thereof. At the same time, an electromagnetic force is generated by energizing the lower solenoid coil 33, whereby the sliding section 35 is retracted to the last position (shown in FIG. 3) together with the core rod 34 against the urging force of the coil spring 36. As a result, the oil stored (evacuated) in the evacuation room 19 is transferred to the communication passage 1.
8, the oil level (fluid level) in the heat generating chamber 7 is raised above the lowermost part of the rotor 14, and the oil level in the heat generating chamber 7 is raised to the outermost peripheral area of the rotating rotor 14. Oil is supplied quickly.

Further, for a certain period immediately after the lower communication hole 6e is opened, the control device 40 repeats energization / interruption to the upper solenoid coil 23 several times (for example, 2 to 10 times). That is, immediately after the first energization to the upper solenoid coil 23, this energization is stopped. Then, the core rod 24, which has lost the suction by the electromagnetic force, is pushed forward by the coil spring 26, and the tip of the core rod 24 contacts the wall surface of the rear partition plate 6 (transition to the closed position of the core rod 24). Although the core rod 24 stops suddenly by this contact, the concave portion 25 at the tip of the core rod communicates with the lower communication hole 6e, and the oil in the concave portion 25 enters the heat generating chamber 7 through the lower communication hole 6e by inertia. Sent in.
In this way, the control device 40 repeats the energization and cutoff of the upper solenoid coil 23 a predetermined number of times determined by the control program, so that the core rod 24 repeats advancing and retreating multiple times. The continuous reciprocation of the core rod 24 is caused by the lower communication hole 6e.
Produces the action of pumping silicone oil into the interior. Such continuous movement of the valve body for the purpose of pumping the viscous fluid will be referred to as a pumping operation. After the end of the pumping operation, as long as an increase in the amount of heat generated by the heater is required, the power supply to the upper solenoid coil 23 is continued, and
Is held in the open position, and the lower communication hole 6e is maintained in the open state.

When the rotor 14 rotates, the lower communication hole 6 in the open state is formed due to its own weight and high viscosity of the silicone oil.
The oil is drawn out from the sub oil chamber 10 via e and the guide groove 6f. However, since the above-described pumping operation is performed further, the oil is quickly supplied from the sub oil chamber 10 to the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, the oil spreads quickly and smoothly over the entire minute clearance between the outer surface of the rotor 14 and the inner wall surface of the heat generating chamber 7. Then, the oil is lifted up to the uppermost portion of the rotor 14 in a short time, and the oil is quickly recovered through the upper communication hole 6d. Therefore,
The oil exchange circulation between the heating chamber 7 and the sub oil chamber 10 is achieved in a short time.

(Scene 3: Feedback Control of Heater Heating Value) As long as the rotation of the pulley 16, the drive shaft 13, and the rotor 14 is maintained by the driving vehicle engine E and the heater switch 42 is turned ON, The control device 40 controls the heater through the energization control to the upper solenoid coil 23 so that the temperature in the vehicle compartment becomes close to the set temperature T set by the temperature setting device 42 while referring to various data from the sensor group 41. The calorific value is feedback controlled.

For example, when the temperature in the vehicle interior is lower than the set temperature T, the control device 40 retreats the core rod 24 by energizing the upper solenoid coil 23, and keeps the lower communication hole 6e open. Then, since the oil supply amount is larger than the oil recovery amount due to the inner diameter relationship between the lower communication hole 6e and the upper communication hole 6d, the oil amount in the heat generating chamber 7 gradually increases, and the outer surface of the rotor 14 and the heat generating chamber The entire clearance with the inner wall surface of 7 is filled with silicone oil. Thus, the shearing force of the oil is improved, and the calorific value tends to increase.

On the other hand, if the temperature in the vehicle interior exceeds the set temperature T due to an increase in the amount of heat generated by the heater, the control device 40
Stops the energization of the upper solenoid coil 23, advances the core rod 24, and closes the lower communication hole 6e. Then
While the oil supply from the sub oil chamber 10 to the heat generating chamber 7 is cut off, only the oil recovery through the upper communication hole 6d is performed, so that the amount of oil in the heat generating chamber 7 gradually decreases, and the rotor 14 becomes as if it were. As it approaches the idling state, the shearing force of the oil decreases and the calorific value also tends to decrease.

When the heater switch 42 is turned off during the operation of the engine E, the control device 40 stops energizing the upper solenoid coil 23 and closes the lower communication hole 6e with the core rod 24. And the upper communication hole 6d
A considerable amount of oil is recovered from the heat generating chamber 7 to the sub-oil chamber 10 via the heat generating chamber 7, and the shear heat generated by the rotor 14 is virtually interrupted. Although the upper communication hole (recovery passage) 6 d is located near the drive shaft 13 and above the drive shaft 13, a considerable amount of oil is collected in the sub oil chamber 10 via the upper communication hole 6 d. The Weissenberg effect is greater than the centrifugal force acting on the oil when the rotor 14 is rotating at low speed because of the viscoelasticity of the silicone oil.
This is because there is a tendency for the oil inside to collect around the drive shaft 13.

Next, after a predetermined period of time (for example, 3 to 10 seconds) after the power supply to the upper solenoid coil 23 is stopped (ie, the lower communication hole 6e is closed), the controller 40 stops the power supply to the lower solenoid coil 33. Then, the electromagnetic attraction of the core rod (rod body) 34 is stopped. In this way, the sliding section 35 is switched to the foremost position (FIG. 2) by the action of the coil spring 36, and the evacuating chamber 19 has the maximum volume. Then, the silicone oil remaining in the heat generating chamber 7 flows into the evacuation chamber 19 through the communication path 18 based on its own weight and the synergistic effect of the negative pressure suction action accompanying the advance of the sliding section 35, and the heat generating chamber 7 The oil level at 7 drops below the bottom of the rotor 14.

As described above, the silicone oil is almost completely eliminated from the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, even when the engine E is restarted thereafter, as described in the above-mentioned scene 1, since the rotor 14 is not restrained by the high-viscosity oil, the pulley 16 and the drive shaft 13
And the rotor 14 can be started smoothly.

The vehicle heat generator of the first embodiment has the following advantages. When the vehicle engine E, which is an external drive source, is stopped, the viscous fluid is introduced (pulled in or collected) into the waiting room 19 so that silicone oil (viscous fluid) does not remain in the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, when the engine E is restarted, the rotor 14 is not restricted by the viscous fluid. In other words, the stopped pulley 16, the drive shaft 13, and the rotor 14
The load torque for starting is set to a no-load state or a minimum state. Therefore, an excessive startup shock does not occur when the engine E is restarted, and the occurrence of abnormal noise and the premature wear of members are also avoided.

In particular, even if the engine E is stopped with the heater switch 42 kept ON, the oil in the heat generating chamber 7 is evacuated to the evacuating chamber 19 to prepare for the subsequent restart of the engine E. Under any circumstances, the load torque for restarting the engine E can be reduced. Therefore, the V-belt 27 constituting the belt transmission mechanism
Is prevented from slipping on the pulley 16,
The replacement time of the V-belt 27 can be delayed.

When starting heat generation by shearing in the vehicle heat generator, the core rod 24 is caused to perform a plurality of pumping operations by controlling the power supply to the electromagnetic solenoid 20.
Therefore, when the oil supply from the heat generating chamber 7 to the sub oil chamber 10 is not stabilized, the silicone oil stored in the sub oil chamber 10 is supplied to the heat generating chamber 7 through the lower communication hole 6e.
Can be positively pumped. Therefore, the required amount of silicone oil can be filled into the heat generating chamber 7 very smoothly and quickly, and the heat generation capability can be quickly started.

The lower communication hole 6 is formed by a core rod 24 as a valve body.
By controlling the opening and closing of e, the amount of oil in the heat generating chamber 7 during rotation of the rotor 14 can be adjusted, and the heat generating capability of the heater can be variably controlled as needed.
Therefore, overheating of the silicone oil due to unnecessary heat generation in the heat generating chamber 7 is prevented, and mechanical deterioration due to thermal deterioration or shearing of the oil can be delayed as much as possible.

A recess 25 is formed at the tip of the core rod 24 as a valve body. This recess 25 is provided in the sub oil chamber 1
This contributes not only to the forced pressure feed of the silicone oil from 0 to the heat generating chamber 7 but also to the weight reduction of the core rod 24. Therefore, the inertia of the core rod 24 itself is reduced, and the core rod 24 can be reciprocated quickly and easily.

The first embodiment can be modified as follows. (Modification) In the above-described scene 3 (feedback control of the heat generation amount of the heater), the variable control of the heat generation amount of the heater is achieved only by controlling the forward / backward movement of the core rod 24 as the valve body. The oil amount in the heat generating chamber 7 may be adjusted in consideration of the forward / backward control to assist in the variable control of the heat generated by the heater. That is, when a quick decrease in the calorific value of the heater is required, the power supply to the lower solenoid coil 33 is stopped, and the sliding driving body 35 is advanced to the foremost position by the coil spring 36 to reduce the volume of the escape chamber 19. Expanding. As a result, the oil corresponding to the increase in the volume of the evacuation chamber 19 can be introduced from the heat generation chamber 7 into the evacuation chamber 19 via the communication passage 18, which contributes to a rapid decrease in the amount of oil in the heat generation chamber 7. be able to. In this way, by synchronizing the advance / retreat control of the sliding drive body 35 with the advance / retreat control of the core rod (valve element) 24, the amount of oil provided for shearing of the rotor 14 can be quickly reduced, and the heater heat generation amount can be reduced. Can be quickly reduced.

(Modification) In the above-described scene 3 (feedback control of the amount of heat generated by the heater), a fixed period (for example, 2 seconds) immediately after the lower communication hole 6e is changed from the closed state to the open state.
(5 seconds), the pumping operation by the core rod 24 may be performed. In this way, the silicone oil recovered from the heat generating chamber 7 and stored in the sub oil chamber 10 for a certain period of time to recover the viscoelasticity can be pressure-fed and supplied to the heat generating chamber 7 in a short time, and the heat generation amount rises sharply. Can be achieved. (Embodiment 2) FIGS. 4 and 5 show a vehicle heat generator according to Embodiment 2 of the present invention. This vehicle heat generator has the same basic configuration as that of the first embodiment, except for the configurations of the fluid level control means, the volume variable means and the valve means.
As a result, even though the control methods are substantially the same, the dynamics of each of the activated means are slightly different. Therefore, this difference will be mainly described.

The core rod 54 can be switched between a retracted position (shown in FIG. 5) and an advanced position (shown in FIG. 4). Therefore, since the upper core rod 57 is connected to the core rod 54 through the coupling body 55, the lower communication hole 6e is switched between front and rear so as to be able to close and open the lower communication hole 6e at the distal end surface. Similarly, since the lower core rod 60 is also connected to the core rod 54 via the coupling body 55, the sliding partition 62 is
It can slide back and forth inside. Such a sliding section 6
The volume of the shelter 63 is changed according to the back-and-forth movement of 2.
In the second embodiment, an electromagnetic solenoid 50 is constituted by the solenoid coil 53, the core rod 54, and the coil springs 59 and 65, and the electromagnetic solenoid 50 constitutes a main part of a variable volume means and a valve means. Then, the solenoid coil 53 and the upper coil spring 59 constitute an operating mechanism of the valve element. The electromagnetic solenoid 50 and the lower core rod 60 as a rod form a driving means for the partition 62, and the partition 62 and its driving means form a variable volume means for changing the volume of the shunting chamber 63. Room 63
And the fluid volume control means constitute a fluid level control means. The control configuration of the vehicle heat generator of the second embodiment is the same as that of the first embodiment shown in FIGS.

Next, the operation of the vehicle heat generator of the second embodiment will be described. The vehicle engine E stops (rotation speed = 0 rpm)
In this case, as shown in FIG. 4, the urging force of the upper and lower coil springs 59 and 65 causes the core rod 54 to be disposed at the forward position. Accordingly, the upper core rod 57 closes the lower communication hole 6e. In addition, since the lower core rod 60 is disposed at the forefront position, the volume of the escape room 63 is maximized. In this case, most of the silicone oil (viscous fluid) is stored separately in the sub oil chamber 10 and the escape chamber 63. Therefore, the rotor 14 can easily rotate without being restrained by the high-viscosity oil.

When the heater switch 42 is turned on while the vehicle engine E is being driven, control of energizing the solenoid coil 53 is started. Thereby, the upper and lower coil springs 5
The core rod 54 moves to the retracted position against the urging force of 9, 65. Accordingly, the upper core rod 57 opens the lower communication hole 6e. Further, since the lower core rod 60 is retracted to the last position, the volume of the shelter 63 is reduced. Therefore, the silicone oil in the sub oil chamber 10 starts flowing into the heat generating chamber 7, and the oil stored (evacuated) in the standby chamber 19 is pushed out to the lowest region of the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, the oil is quickly supplied to the central region and the outermost peripheral region of the rotating rotor 14.

Further, for a certain period immediately after the core rod 54 is retracted, the control device 40 repeats energization and cutoff of the solenoid coil 53 several times (for example, 2 to 10 times).
The pumping operation of the upper and lower core rods 57 and 60 is realized in order to repeatedly advance and retreat. Then, the oil quickly and smoothly spreads over the entire minute clearance between the outer surface of the rotor 14 and the inner wall surface of the heat generating chamber 7, and is sheared to generate heat.
The heat generated in the heat generating chamber 7 is exchanged with the circulating water flowing through the front and rear water jackets 8 and 9, and the heated circulating water is used for heating the vehicle interior via a heating circuit (not shown). You.

In the case of feedback control of the heat value of the heater, for example, when the air temperature in the vehicle interior falls below the set temperature T, the control device 40 retracts the core rod 54 by energizing the solenoid coil 53. Then, the upper core rod 57 keeps the lower communication hole 6e open, and the lower core rod 60 keeps the volume of the escape chamber 63 reduced. Then, the amount of oil in the heat generating chamber 7 increases, the shearing force of the oil increases, and the amount of heat generated tends to increase. On the other hand, when the temperature in the vehicle interior exceeds the set temperature T due to an increase in the amount of heat generated by the heater or the like, the control device 40 stops energizing the solenoid coil 53 and advances the core rod 54 forward. Then, the upper core rod 57 closes the lower communication hole 6e, and the lower core rod 60 enlarges the volume of the waiting room 63. In this way, the oil supply from the sub oil chamber 10 to the heat generating chamber 7 is shut off, and the silicone oil in the heat generating chamber 7 is collected in the sub oil chamber 10 or quickly stored in the standby chamber 63. For this reason, the amount of oil in the heat generating chamber 7 decreases, and the rotor 14 approaches an idling state, the shearing force of the oil decreases, and the amount of generated heat also tends to decrease.

When the heater switch 42 is turned off during the operation of the engine E, the control device 40 stops the energization of the solenoid coil 23 and the core rod 24 moves forward. The side communication hole 6e is closed, and the lower core rod 60 enlarges the volume of the waiting room 63. For this reason,
The oil moves from the heat generating chamber 7 to the sub oil chamber 10 and the shunting chamber 63, thereby effectively interrupting the shear heat generated by the rotor 14.

When the engine E is stopped, the pulley 16,
The drive shaft 13 and the rotor 14 also stop at the same time. If the heater switch 42 is ON at that time despite the stop of the engine E (the stop of the rotor 14), the control device 40 first stops the energization of the solenoid coil 53 and removes the core rod 54. Let go forward. For this reason, the upper core rod 57
Closes the lower communication hole 6e and collects the silicone oil into the sub oil chamber 10, and the lower core rod 60 accommodates the silicone oil by expanding the volume of the escape chamber 63. Then, the silicone oil remaining in the heat generating chamber 7 flows into the waiting room 63 based on its own weight and the synergistic effect of the negative pressure suction action accompanying the advance of the sliding partition 62, and the liquid level of the oil in the heat generating chamber 7. Is lower than the lowermost part of the rotor 14.

In this way, the silicone oil is almost completely removed from the heat generating chamber 7. Therefore, even when the engine E is restarted thereafter, as described above, the rotor 14 is not restrained by the high-viscosity oil, so that the pulley 16, the drive shaft 13, and the rotor 14 are smoothly moved simultaneously with the start of the engine E. Can be started.
