(57)【要約】 【課題】 ガス充填された作用位置のエアバッグカーテ
ンをその保護位置に確実に保持する。 【解決手段】 ガス充填された作用位置（Ａ）のエアバ
ッグカーテン（２）を２つの側部固定箇所（５，６）の
間に固定し、双方の固定箇所（５，６）を相互に結合す
る応力線（７）と交差するチャンバ（１０）には、各交
差範囲に、ほぼ応力線（７）の方向へ向く楕円形横断面
（１２）を与える隆起部分を構成する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、請求項１のプレア
ンブルに記載の、車輛窓ガラスのためのエアバッグカー
テンに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】請求項１のプレアンブルにおいて考慮し
たドイツ特許公開第２２２２６２１号には、相互に重畳
する双方のカーテン部分の線状結合によってガス充填可
能なパイプ状チャンバを構成したガス充填可能なエアバ
ッグカーテンが記載されている。チャンバは、ガス充填
された作用位置では、縦方向へ延びる横断面を有し、乗
員から負荷を受けた際に上記横断面によって最大エネル
ギ吸収能が達成される。この場合、衝突する乗員によっ
てエアバッグカーテンがその保護被覆位置から押出され
ることのないよう作用位置にエアバッグカーテンを固定
することは、考慮されていない。
【０００３】補助保持手段によって作用位置に保持した
エアバッグに関する総合的背景に関して、更に、下記公
報を挙げる：ドイツ特許公開第４３０７１７５号、ドイ
ツ特許公開第４２３８４２７号、ドイツ実用新案ＤＥ９

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の課題は、ガス
充填されたその作用位置にある冒頭に述べた種類のエア
バッグカーテンをその保護位置に確実に保持することに
ある。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】この課題は、請求項１の
特徴記載部分に開示の特徴によって解決される。
【０００６】この種のエアバッグカーテンは、通常、統
合されて車輛窓ガラスの縁に沿って積込まれ、衝突時、
賦活されたガス発生器またはガス貯蔵器のガスの充填に
よって、車輛窓ガラス前の作用位置に移行される。しか
しながら、エアバッグカーテンは、乗員の前に拡張され
るよう、ルーフ内部に車輛横方向へ配置することもでき
る。この場合、単一チャンバ形エアバッグとは異なり相
互に気密な別個のチャンバを有するエアバッグカーテン
の場合、エアバッグカーテンにより少ないガス量を充填
すればよく、従って、側面衝突時、短時間で特に好適に
且つ乗員を保護するようより低い圧力で充填が達成され
るという利点がある。この場合、チャンバの境界線によ
って形成されガス充填される円形横断面が、乗員によっ
てチャンバが負荷されて際、最大エネルギ吸収能を与え
る。
【０００７】エアバッグカーテンが、衝突する乗員によ
って車室内で作用位置から車輛窓ガラスの前に移動され
ることのないよう、カーテン側部を車体または車内ライ
ニングに固定する。この場合、固定箇所の間には、チャ
ンバのガス充填によって応力線が生じ、エアバッグカー
テンは、固定箇所の間に且つ車輛窓ガラスの近傍に緊張
状態に保持される。
【０００８】上記応力線上において、チャンバは、チャ
ンバを限定する境界線によってより大きい幅に構成さ
れ、かくして、上記範囲には、隣接のチャンバ範囲の円
形横断面を損なうことなく、固定箇所の間により大きい
緊張力を誘起する楕円形チャンバ横断面がカーテン面の
方向へ構成される。
【０００９】チャンバのこの個々の構成によって、乗員
の衝突範囲には、各チャンバの円形横断面形状による最
適なエネルギ吸収状態が保持され、しかも、応力線に沿
って、エアバッグカーテンを作用位置に確実に保持する
最大応力がエアバッグカーテン内に誘導される。
【００１０】座った乗員の頭部重心の下方に応力線を置
けば、エアバッグカーテンの作用位置を特に確実に固定
できる。
【００１１】チャンバの形状決定境界線は、双方の対向
するエアバッグ壁の縫付操作または織込操作によって簡
単に形成できる。
【００１２】他の利点および構成は、従属請求項および
詳細な説明から明らかであろう。

【発明の実施の形態】図面を参照して以下に本発明を詳
細に説明する。
【００１４】図１に、車室内の車輛のサイドガラス１の
前のエアバッグカーテン２を示した。車輛のサイドウイ
ンドウ１は、衝突時、車輛乗員の衝突範囲においてエア
バッグカーテン２によって被われ、かくして、車輛サイ
ドガラス１に対する乗員の激しい衝突は避けられる。
【００１５】通常の走行運転の場合、エアバッグカーテ
ン２は、車輛サイドガラス１の上部境界縁に沿って統合
された積込位置を取り、即ち、全幅にわたって、ルーフ
フレーム３に沿って縦方向へ延びる受容チャンネル３´
内に折畳まれる。
【００１６】衝突時、車内ライニングの後ろのＣピラー
の範囲に設置されたガス発生器４が賦活されてエアバッ
グカーテン２にガスを充填し、かくして、上記エアバッ
グカーテンは、ルーフフレーム３の受容チャンネル３´
から出て、車輛サイドガラス１にわたって下方の作用位
置Ａに拡張される。この場合、エアバッグカーテン２
は、横方向へ延びるその上縁に沿ってルーフフレーム３
に固定され、この固定は、同じく、それぞれＡピラーお
よびＣピラーの２つの低い固定箇所５，６において行わ
れる。
【００１７】この場合、エアバッグカーテン２にガスを
充填することによって、エアバッグカーテン２は、鎖線
で示した応力線７に沿ってＡピラーの固定箇所５からＣ
ピラーの固定箇所６まで緊張され、かくして、乗員の衝
突時にも車輛サイドガラス１の前の作用位置Ａに確実に
保持される。
【００１８】エアバッグカーテンは、エアバッグカーテ
ン２の幅にわたって相互に離隔して並置されたガス充填
可能なチャンバ１０から構成され境界線９によって気密
に分離された２つの対向する壁８，８´から形成され
る。上記の各チャンバ１０にもとづき、エアバッグカー
テンの充填に必要なガスはより少量であり、これは、側
面衝突の場合に特に好適である。なぜならば、充填が、
より短時間に且つ乗員を保護するようより低いガス圧で
達成されるからである。
【００１９】衝突時にガス充填後、チャンバの大部分
は、円形横断面１１を有し、従って、乗員によるチャン
バ１０の負荷時に最大のエネルギ吸収能を有する。円形
横断面は、平行に延びるまたは一様に接近または離隔す
る境界線９によって得られる。
【００２０】作用位置Ａのエアバッグカーテン２が、衝
突する乗員によって、車輛サイドガラス１を被う位置か
ら押出されないよう、エアバッグカーテン２は、各側部
で、それぞれ、Ａピラーの固定箇所５およびＣピラーの
固定箇所６に固定され、これらの双方の固定箇所５，６
の間で応力線７に沿って緊張され、車輛サイドガラス１
の近傍に保持される。
【００２１】この応力線７上において、チャンバ１０
は、境界線９の推移にもとづき、隣接範囲に比してより
大きい幅を有するよう構成され、かくして、隆起部分が
生じ、この隆起部分によって、各チャンバ１０のこの範
囲の固定箇所５，６の間には、ほぼ応力線７の方向へ楕
円形横断面が１２が構成されることになり、従って、隣
接のチャンバ範囲の円形横断面１１を損なうことなく固
定箇所５，６の間により大きい緊張力が誘起される。
【００２２】チャンバ１０のこの個々の構成にもとづ
き、乗員の衝突範囲には、各チャンバ１０の円形横断面
形状１１によって最適なエネルギ吸収が達成され、しか
も、エアバッグカーテン２内には、応力線７に沿って、
エアバッグカーテン１０をその作用位置Ａに保持する最
大応力が誘起されることになる。
【００２３】応力線７を座った乗員の頭部重心の下方に
延びるよう配置すれば、エアバッグカーテン２の作用位
置Ａを特に確実に固定できる。
【００２４】チャンバ１０の境界線９は、双方のエアバ
ッグ壁８，８´の縫付操作または織込操作によって簡単
に形成できる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 ガス充填可能で、ガス充填後に十分に円
    形の横断面を示す、相互に離隔して並置された複数のパ
    イプ状チャンバを有する、車輛窓ガラスのためのエアバ
    ッグカーテンにおいて、エアバッグカーテン（２）が、
    ガス充填された作用位置（Ａ）では、２つの側部固定箇
    所（５，６）の間に固定され、双方の固定箇所（５，
    ６）を相互に結合する応力線（７）と交差するチャンバ
    （１０）が、各交差範囲において、ほぼ応力線（７）の
    方向へ向く楕円形横断面（１２）を与える隆起部分を有
    するよう構成されていることを特徴とするエアバッグカ
    ーテン。
  2. 【請求項２】 応力線（７）が、座った乗員の頭部重心
    の下方に伸びるよう設けてあることを特徴とする請求項
    １のエアバッグカーテン。
  3. 【請求項３】 チャンバ（１０）の形状決定境界線
    （９）が、縫付操作または織込操作によって形成されて
    いることを特徴とする請求項１のエアバッグカーテン。
  4. 【請求項４】 チャンバ（１０）の境界線（９）が、十
    分に平行に延びるよう構成されていることを特徴とする
    請求項１のエアバッグカーテン。
  5. 【請求項５】 エアバッグカーテン（２）が、車輛窓ガ
    ラス（１）の境界縁に沿い統合された積込位置を取り、
    チャンバ（１０）のガス充填によって作用位置に移行
    し、応力線（７）に沿って固定箇所（５，６）の間に緊
    張されることを特徴とする請求項１のエアバッグカーテ
    ン。
