Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the thermal stress across the width of a coil conductor by arranging a pair of longitudinal dual-path cooling pipes in the conductor, the pipes are situated symmetrically with reference to the center axis of the conductor, and by passing coolant reciprocally through the passages of each pipe (flow pattern through one pipe is symmetric with that through the other pipe).
