Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the water content of slurry without decreasing the treating capacity of a dewatering device by pressing and filtering slurry continuously with a pressure plate operated by hydraulic cylinders via a chain from outside.
CONSTITUTION: The inner side of a pressure plate 18 attached movably on the back-side of a chain 7 facing a rotary drum 6 is formed in a circular arc shaped along the outer surface of the drum 6. On the surface of a chain 7 contacting filter cloth 15, pressing plates 21 are attached to every two chain links neighboring axially so that filter cloths 14 and 15 may be sandwiched between the plates 21 and the outer surface of the drum 6, and holes 22 to pass through filtered water are made on the surface of the drum 6. By so doing, chain tension raises pressing force and the pressure plate 18 operated by hydraulic cylinders press further, thus total pressing force can be raised very high and rate of dewatering can be improved.
