Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure fixing of fitting members as well as to make possible installation with the bolt screwed in one coupling member by such a construction that a groove is excavated circumferentially on the coupling member of lock ring and is provided with concaves at its two ends in order to engage with the head of the bolt.
CONSTITUTION: A lock ring 7 is inserted in the diameter contracted condition into the socket 1 provided with a sealing material 4 and the diameter of this lock ring 7 is enlarged in the socket 1. Screw holes 16 of the coupling members 10a, 10b are aligned with a concave 18a at the side toward the extremety to fasten with a bolt 15. The plug 2 is inserted in the socket 1 and the projection 6 shall be located further inside the socket 1 than the lock ring 7. The bolt 15 is loosened for a distance corresponding to the depth of the concave 18a and the diameter of the lock ring 7 shall be contracted by the use of a diameter contracting jig which utilizes the operation hole 20. At this time, the length of the lock ring 7 is adjusted previously with a length adjustment device 9, so that the screw hole 16 in the coupling member 10a is in alignment with the concave 18b, that assures secure fixing of the coupling members 10a, 10b.
