Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate any turbulent flow and improve the efficiency of suction with an ejector fitted to a discharge port of a pump, by fitting a fillet to the ejector nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: An ejector 1 is fixed to the bottom of an aeration tank 2 by its solid base 1c, and its air box 1a is connected with two air pipes 3 which also serve as guides for the vertical transfer of this pump, so that the box 1a is communicated with two suction holes 1d. A cylindrical coupler 7 for holding an ejector nozzle 6 is fixed to a flange 5b at the discharge tip of a casing 5a of a centrifugal submerged pump 5, and an adequate length of fillet shaped straightening plate 6a is fitted in the nozzle 6. Since the turbulent component of water flow from the casing 5a is canceled by the fillet 6a in the nozzle 6, the efficiency of jet flow from the nozzle 6 is much improved.
