Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve efficiency in the treatment of shot peening and shot blast, by detecting and controlling the amount of shot flow.
CONSTITUTION: The density of a shot flow is detected by a pair of coils 6 and 7, which are mutually inductive and are placed in the shot passage in a magnetic field, and further the quantity of shot flow is detected. The degree of opening of valve 19 which discharges the shot from hopper 3 is controlled by opening-degree control 20. The amount of air from compressor 5 is controlled by flow control valve 18. By controlling either the amount of shot supply or the amount of shot-flow- supplying gas flow, or both, the amount of shot flow 4 in shot passage 1 is maintained constant.
