Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce NOx amount by making divergent angle of combustion air flow larger than that of fuel to suppress rapid mix and combustion of fuel and combustion air in the beginning of combustion.
CONSTITUTION: Since the divergent angle θ1 of fuel injected into a furnace 3 is smaller than that θ2 of air flow, the fuel is mixed only with a portion of combustion air to start the combustion. While the fuel F enveloped by the combustion air A is diversed and mixed therewith, the combustion proceeds to form too rich fuel area I. Next, most of fuel which are not burnt in the too rich fuel area I are mixed alternatively with the main jet A of combustion air to provide a very homogeneous mixing condition and form lean fuel area II for the completion of combustion under the lean fuel condition. In the lean fuel area II, the distribution of temperature is rendered uniform by the enclosing effect of combustion gas due to the momentum of main jet flow A of combustion air in the too rich fuel area I.
