Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively decrease the quantity of NOx formed and to improve combustion efficiency by providing air currents for combustion with a fixed degree of divagation.
CONSTITUTION: Air for combustion A is injected from an opening portion mounted at the lower side of an air baffle 2, and spreads into a furnace from a lower half portion in a burner tile 1. Meanwhile, fuel F fed from a burner 4 is jetted to the side, at where the air for combustion A is a little, flows through an upper half portion in a hole of the burner tile 1 and is supplied into the furnace. Thus, the air for combustion and the fuel are slowly mixed, and combustion sluggishly advances as compared to the case when air for combustion in a uniform flow is given. In such a combustion process, the so-called "self-combustion exhaust gas circulation" effectively takes place because not only combustion exhaust gas G is mixed into the air currents for combustion A by the momentum of the air for combustion A but also the gas G is also mixed into the fuel currents F. An angle of opening θ of an air circulation portion is prescribed in value not more than approximately 240° in order to furnish the air currents for combustion with a degree of divagation necessary for performing excellent low NOx combustion.
