In addn., the exhaust gas 3 from the first half wind boxes 2 is led to the hood 9 installed above the second half sintering zone. Bed ore and sintering raw material are laid on the pallet 1 of the sintering machine, ignited by ignition furnace 19, and sintered while the pallet 1 being moved. In that case, the exhaust gas discharged from the first half wind boxes 2 is introduced to the hood 9 of the second half sintering zone, where it is mixed with air 10 from an air fan 12, so that oxygen content is adjusted to 10W 12 %. Hereby, reduction- and pulverization-resistance of the sintered ore in both upper and under layers are improved. Because a portion of exhaust gas is used, equipment cost and operation cost for treating exhaust gas (dust collection, desulfurization, denitration) are reduced.
