Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesivity and the wettability of the surface of a fluorinated olefin polymer molded article, by subjecting the surface to repeated sputtering treatments.
CONSTITUTION: The adhesivity of a fluorinated olefin polymer molded article is improved by the sputter etching teatment under the following conditions; temp, 0W50°C; pressure, 0.0005W0.5 Torr, pref. 0.001W0.15 Torr; product of the discharging power and the treating time, ≥ 7.5 W.sec/cm2, pref. ≥ 30 W.sec/cm2. The treated surface is further treated by sputter etching under the following condition to improve the wettability to water; temp, 0W50°; pressure, 0.01W0.5 Torr, pref. 0.05W0.2 Torr; product of the discharging power and the treating time, 0.1W5 W.sec/cm2, pref. 1W5 W.sec/cm2.
