Abstract

PURPOSE: To synchronize a brushlers synchronous machine smoothly and quickly by smoothly staring it with a static stator.
CONSTITUTION: When a synchronous machine SYN is to be started, it is let to be started up to the rated speed by closing a starting excitation contactor 41S, forming an external field starting circuit and moreover giving a starting command to a static starter SS. When the synchronous machine reaches the rated speed, it opens the starting excitation contactor 41S, closes a field circuit breaker 41a and switches the external field over an AC exciter AC-EX. At the same time by use of an automatic synchronous indicator SYN, voltage balance signals are given to an automatic power factor regulator APFR-1 and speed control signals are to the static starter SS. When the synchronous machine is put into a synchronous status it closes an operation breaker 52 and opens a starting breaker 41R at the same time.
