Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement of strength and the simplification of construction and operation by making the size of two sheets of transparent substrate sealing display material the same and providng lead terminals at both end faces thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An upper transparent substrate 11 and a lower transparent substrate 12 are of the same size and are bonded by means of a sealing agent 15, between which is sealed display material such as liquid crystal, electrochromic material or the like. Conductive films of high contact characteristic, corrosion, etc. are formed for segment electrode part conductive film 20 and common electrode part conductive film 21 by such method as vacuum evaporation, sputtering, or printing of conductive paste in order to perfect the conduction with connector 18, 19. Hence, the common electrode may be connected directly to the connectors, the operation and construction simplified and further impact resistance improved because the transparent substrates are of the same size
