Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head inexpensively and easily and yet with good accuracy with a slight number of parts by fixing thin-film magnetic head elements and terminal plate on a base holder, wire-bonding the respective terminals and fixing the cover holder. CONSTITUTION:A thin-film magnetic head element 10 comprised one set of head cores 12, coils 13 and connection terminals 14 on a common insulation substrate 11. Both terminals 21, 23 of a terminal plate 20 cosisting of the mounting part 22 formed with terminals 21 corresponding to the terminals 14 of said element chip 10 and the lead-out part 24 formed with external terminals 23 are connected respectively by means of lead wires 25. A base holder 30 and a cover holder 40 are composed of an insulator of less abrasion. A recess 31 for accommodating the element chip 10 and a recess 32 for accommodating the mounting part 22 of the terminal plate 20 are formed respectively opposedly in the bonding face of the bace holder 30. Grooves 33 for insertion of bonding wires are formed between both recesses.
