Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the quantity of developer making contact to photosensitive surface constant and obtain stable and good quality images by so disposing a magnetic-brush-forming roller and a magnetic member that the developer moves in the direction opposite from the direction in which the developer moves over the roller.
CONSTITUTION: A return member 22 made of a magnetic material is installed above a sleeve 1 so that a pool 19 is kept constant by the magnetism acting between the same and a magnet roller 2. The return member 22 is provided in such a shape that its end part 23 is bent at a radius approximately concentrical to the magnet roller 2, and said end part 23 is located near the pool 19. The central to rear portions of the member 22 are provided in the direction gradually going away from the roller 2 and are fixed to a hopper 5.
