Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a small diameter, thick-walled pipe-cover by rolling a composite sheet composed of a thermoplastic foamed sheet and a foamed or slightly foamed resin film laminated to one side of said foamed sheet, facing the film side outward.
CONSTITUTION: A composite sheet prepared by the heat-lamination of a synthetic resin film having a thickness of 0.01W1.0 mm and a density of ≥0.3 g/cc to one side of a thermoplastic foamed sheet having a thickness of 5W15 mm, is rolled to a pipe facing the film side outward and passed through a funnel die while letting the foamed sheet shrink by blasting hot air thereto, and both ends of the composite sheet are bonded together by hot-pressing.
EFFECT: A small diameter, thick-walled pipe-cover having an inner diameter/thickness ratio of 0.5W1.2, and excellent mechanical strength, can be manufactured.
USE: Heat insulation of water pipes, etc
