Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a liquid organosilicon polymer having a reduced viscosity, by reacting a siloxysilanol of low polymerization degree retained with an organosilylating agent under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid organosilicon compound is prepared by converting a siloxysilanol of low polymerization degree retained to an organosilicon derivative. For example, the siloxysilanol, such as water-glass, etc., is slowly added to an aqueous solution of a mineral acid, containing a water-soluble organic solvent, e.g. alcohols, etc., and an organosilylating agent, e.g. trimetychlorosilane, etc..
EFFECT: Excellent water repellency
