Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the counterflow without decreasing the maximum output of engine, by providing in a collector a partition plate for suppressing the flow of mixture to each cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: The inlet part 13a of an intake port 13, which is coupled to a grunch part 11 through a gasket 14, has a large diameter. A diameter difference is set between the inlet part 13a and the grunch part 11 so that a counterflow preventing means is formed. The mixture supplied to the vicinity of an intake valve 8 is prevented by the means from flowing back to the other cylinder through the grunch part 11 when the intake valve of this cylinder opens. Since the cross-sectional area of passage of the intake system is increased for the counterflow preventing means, the output of engine is not reduced
