Abstract
PURPOSE: To allow a strong distrurbance to be generated in a combustion chamber when necessary, securing a high filling efficiency in high speed high load operation by feeding a great deal of mixed gas into each helical port through a communication branched passages.
CONSTITUTION: As a pressure difference is generated between each helical intake port 5aW5d irrespective of the engine load, mixed gas gushes out from communication branched passages 30aW30d, and the swirling flow W in a combustion chamber 10 is energized by said gushed mixed gas. As generally known, by the formation of the intake port in helical form, the filling efficiency in high speed high load operation lowers, but in this invention, as a great deal of mixed gas is supplied into each helical intake port 5aW5d through communication branched passages 30aW30d even in high speed high load operation, the reduction of filling efficiency can be avoided.
