Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the drawbacks that a thermal head is heated to a temperature higher than a coloring limit as a result of the heat accumulating effects thereby to accomplish the unnecessary recording operation by limiting the thickness of the ceramic plate of a glazed ceramic substrate.
CONSTITUTION: There are laminated upon a plate 6 of Al an Al2O3 plate 5 acting as a ceramic plate having a thickness of 0.5 to 0.2 mm, preferably, 0.4 to 0.2 mm, a glazed layer 4 made of glass, an exothermic layer 3 made of Ta2N, and a protecting layer of SiO2. Thus, the heat generated by the layer 3 is transferred to the plate 6 so that the intervals between the first and second pulses can be shortened to increase the printing speed
