Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive electroc wave absorption or magnetic shield material by forming ferrite from ferrous salt in effluent and heat treating ferrite, a by-product of a process for removing heavy metals in the effluent, in a non-oxidizing atmosphere together with the above feryite after which a hardenable viscous substance is added to the heat treated ferrite and kneaded.
CONSTITUTION: Ferrite, a by-product of a process for removing heavy metals in effluent by taking the metals in the crystal lattices of ferrite or allowing them to be adsorbed to the crystal particles is heat treated in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to increase the magnetic loss. Next a hardenable viscous substance such as low density polyethylene is added to the heat treated ferrite and kneaded. By this method an electric wave absoption or magnetic shield matrial is obtd. which is superior to a material formed without heat treatment
