Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure easy processing as well as to ensure distribution of the frequency adjusting dielectric bar by reducing the measurement ratio down to 2 or less between the E-face and the H-face of the rectangular waveguide. CONSTITUTION:In the solid state oscillator, solid state oscillation element 3 such as the Gunn diode, the IMPATT diode and the like is packaged into cavity resonator 2 in which one end of rectangular waveguide 1 is shorted, the bias of element 3 is applied from bias power source 5 via by-pass capacitor 4, and the oscillation frequency is adjusted by dielectric bar 6 inserted to the position where the field becomes high through the E-face of resonator 2. The characteristic curve diagram of the oscillation frequency is shown by securing measurement (a) of the E-face of the rectangular waveguide to the parameter against distance l between the short plate and the Gunn diode of the 24G Hz-band Gunn oscillator featruing the constitution shown above. It is manifest with these characteristic curves that the easy processing becomes possible with distribution of bar 6 owing to imcreased distance l by reducing the measurement ratio down to 2 or less between the E- and H-faces of the rect angular waveguide.
