Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a turbine operation control system, with which the operation of reducing the vacuum in a condenser is automatically effected for promptly preventing increase of the difference in elongation between the turbine shaft and vehicle chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A condenser 1 provided in a lower part of a low pressure turbine is always held in vacuum, and a cacuum transmitter 2 is coupled to the condenser through communication duct. To a condenser 1 is coupled an air duct having one end 5 open to atmosphere and provided with a vacuum pressure control valve 3, to which an electric-to-pneumatic converter 4 is connected. An elongation difference detector 14 is provided in the neighborhood of a turbine shaft 15, and an electric signal representing the elongation difference detected there is coupled through an elongation difference gauge 6 to an elongation difference recorder 7, while it is also coupled through the gauge 6 and an elongation difference signal converter 8 to a controller 9. The controller 9 effects operational treatment of this signal and a signal from the vacuum transmitter 2 and transmits a signal for opening the valve 3 when the elongation difference signal exceeds a certain preset value
