Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a muddy sewage treating system, in which muddy sewage is dehydrated and combusted, and the waste heat is utilized for generating electric power by means of boiler and steam turbine, whereby it is enabled to generate superfluous electric power, with no need of auxiliary fuel oil and without producing badly odored exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Muddy sewage principally composed of organic substances is dehydrated effectively with addition of chemicals such as coagulant to the settled sludge and superfluous activated sludge. Then, the muddy sewage thus added with chemicals is dehydrated by dehydrator 1, and cakes of dehydrated sewage are crushed into pieces by crusher 3 and introduced into fluidized bed combustion furnace 4. Pre-heated air is supplied from window box 6 into the furnace 4 through porous furnace bed 7. On the furnace bed 7, high-temperature silica sand heated by combustion of the sludge forms a fluidized bed 8, so that sludge is combusted with no need of auxiliary fuel. Further, air is pre-heated in air pre-heater 10 by high-temperature combustion gas supplied from the top of the furnace, and stream is generated by waste heat boiler 12 and used for driving the turbine of generator
