Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect incineration of the sludge in a high efficiency by a method where in the sludge is pulverized after it is dried by utilizing the self combustion heat of the sludge or an auxiliary fuel and is injected into the space of a combustion chamber to burn it, in the disposal of an organic hydrous sludge.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge obtained from a settling pond or the like is dehydrated by a dehydrating machine property to make sludge cakes and a determined amount of the cake is thrown into a drier 2 by a determined amount feeder 1. The drier 2 dries the sludge cake by steam 26 as the heat source thereof from a waste-heat boiler 14. The dried solid matter obtained here is fed into a pulverizing machine 5 through a reservoir 3 to pulverize it, thereafter, is fed into a combustion burner 7 through an air conveyor 6 to inject it into the combustion chamber 8. Then, the sludge is burnt in a state of floating suspension while ash in the sludge is molten and the molten ash is collected by a slug screen 9, thereafter, is cooled in a slug cooling tank 13 to solidify it. On the other hand, combustion gas is discharged through a radiation heat transmitting section 10, a convection heat transmitting section 11, an air preheater 15 and the like.
