Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure the clamp of an original by clamping the original upon a stopped rotary drum, which is controlled by a single rotation clutch, through a holding pawl which is made coactive with the rotary drum.
CONSTITUTION: When the insertion of an original is detected by an optical detector 9, origin supply rollers 5 and 6 are stopped so that the leading edge of the original abut against a stopper 33 so as to be arranged thereby and so that an original cam plate 56 is moved through a solenoid lever 59, which is mounted on a rotary drum 1, by the energization of a solenoid. As a result, a bracket 36A is turned to clamp the original in a preset position, in the stopped drum 1 by means of a holding pawl 32. Then, the drum 1, in which a start lever 20 is released from its retained condition by energization of a solenoid 23, is turned to effect the copying operation. Thus, the original can be reliably clamped so that the copying operation can be accomplished without any influence upon the speed change during transmission. If, on the other hand, the energization period of the colenoid for a clutch is controlled, the repeated copying operations can be fasilitated and ensured
