Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve jamming resistance, offset resistance and fixing characteristic by specifying the surface roughness of coating layer in a heat-fixing roll which comprises coating tetrafluoroethylene resin on core.
CONSTITUTION: The surface roughness of the tetrafluoroethylene resin layer 6 which is coated via adhesive layer 5 on the surface of the core 1 disposed therein with a heater 4 is specified at less than 0.4μm being mirror surface condition. Then, cutting of the thin film of the silicone oil 8 having been fed to the roll surface 7 by the projections of the surface 7 becomes extremely infrequent and even the inert roll surface 7 becomes readily wettable to the silicone oil 8 and the toner 10 on recording paper 9 mostly contacts the roll surface 7 via the silicone oil 8, thus there is no more deposition of the toner 10 on the roll surface 7 and the fixing characteristic, jamming resistance and offset resistance are improved
