Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotograhic receptor superior in cleanability, toner transfer property, transfer paper separability, etc., by causing minute peaks and valleys on the selenium type photoconductive layer itself to roughen its surface.
CONSTITUTION: A solution consisting of a low boiling point solvent (e.g., tetrahydrofuran) having large latent heat of evaporation, and containing 5W20wt% synthetic resin capable of forming a film (e.g., polyurethane) is coated on a photoconductive layer made of amorphous selenium, seleniumtellurium alloy, or the like formed by vacuum evaporation on a substrate to form a 2W10μ thickness film. The above film is dried in the temperature range from above the softening point of the photoconductive layer to below the crystallization point, and after cooling it to or below the softening point, the film is stripped off from the photoconductive layer to form a photoconductive layer of the photoreceptor having its own surface with minute peaks and valleys.
