Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent any shorting during the normal operation by ensuring a lag angle of more than 120° in the gate control pulse while the bypass switch is closed with an auxiliary contact thereof added to a exciting circuit of the auxiliary relay.
CONSTITUTION: A thyristor bridge 1 invariably generates a gate pulse with an automatic pulse phase shifting device 19 through a control voltage determined by a contact current controller 20 while it is controlled by ON or OFF pulse passing a gate control circuit 18 and a pulse amplifier 17. An auxiliary contact 30' of a bypass switch is added to an exciting circuit of a auxiliary relay 24 to ensure a lag angle of more than 120° in the gate control pulse while the bypass switch is closed. In this manner, any shorting can be checked during the normal operation
