Abstract

PURPOSE: To set the lens in the specified position such as fixed focus position irrespective of the moving speed, timing for stopping, etc. of an extension member by actuating the automatic focus controller through releasing of stopping of a lens defining means when the automatic focus controller fails to actuate.

CONSTITUTION: When an instantaneous current does not flow in an electromagnet 8 owing to stopping of extension at the failure of automatic focus detection owing to a certain cause, a stopping lever 9 is held attracted to an iron core 8a by the magnetic force of a permanent magnet and therefore a lens extension member 2 shifts slightly rightward even after it has completd to sufficiently extend the photographic lens 4 and a stopping lever 11 is pushed by the operation of this time, thus releasing a fixed focus returning member 12. As a result, the member 12 is turned by a spring 13, and the lens is pushed in the arrow B direction by way of a studded pin 4a, thus the lens 4 is set in the focus position of the photographic lens where frequency is highest in ordinary photographing in the position where the member 12 abuts against stopper 14.
