Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure accurate reproduction of video signals by depressing the time axis errors of the signals of respective channels to be reproduced from elongation signals recorded in a plurality of heads thereby to compress the reproduced signals.

CONSTITUTION: The horizontal synchronous signals of video signals are sampled by a ring counter 3, and clock pulse mixers 4-1 and so on are controlled so that the video signals, which are sampled with the clock pulses of high and low speed clock pulse generators 5 and 6, are written in at a high speed and read out at a low speed from charge transfer elements 7₁ and so on and so that elongation video signals are recorded in heads 11₁ and so on. The outputs of C-class amplifiers 13₁ and so on, which have their levels increased during non-signal period of the reproduced signals, are composed by a composing circuit 16 through integrating circuit 14₁ and so on and the differential circuits 15₁ and so on so that the resultant horizontal synchronous signals are compared in phase by a phase comparator circuit 19 with the horizontal synchronous signals, which are produced by a voltage control oscillator 17 and a frequency divider 18 thereby to control the feedback of the oscillator 17.
