CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (X is ethylene, cis-vinylene; R1 is H, 1-12C alkyl; R2, R3 are H, OH-protecting group) and a compound of formula II [R4, R5 are H, halogen, trifluoromethyl, 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy; R7 is phenyl substituted with 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkyl] are subjected to wittig reaction to form a prostaglandin analog intermediate of formula III (Double bonds between C2 and C3, and C13 and C14 are trans).
