Abstract

PURPOSE: A miniaturized welder free of bias-power is provided by using a transistor that pulates a welding current, and a control device to input a specified bias into said transistor.
CONSTITUTION: A transistor 2 receives a signal from a controller 30 and feeds an arc 6 welding current between a welding rod 5 and a material 4 to be welded. An arc 6 voltage is detected by a DC detector 8 and inputted into the controller 30, which outputs a control signal to the transistor 2 for stabilizing the arc 6. To make this arc current a bias current, a pulse signal from a signal generator 10 is fed to a driving circuit 11 in which switching of a driving transistor 14 is actuated by a phtocoupler 12 or the like. A varistor 13 or the like is used to prevent transistor 14 switching to lower to a zero-potential, thereby providing bias to switching wave. This means effects a simple feed of welding bias current.
